Still one of our all-time favorite Chinese restaurants. Located at 3rd Floor PI. We’ve been coming here for years—both in Indonesia and Singapore—and the food quality has always been consistently great. I usually come outside of peak hours to enjoy the calm atmosphere, and the service is always warm and polite. Even their steamed peanuts appetizer hits the spot!
Some standout dishes: Deep-fried venison (315K, medium) – So good! A rare find and a must-order when it’s available. Rich, savory, a little spicy—packed with flavor Stir-fried eel with fumak (80K, small) – Leans sweet, but super comforting and tasty. Mayonnaise prawn (85K, small) – Sad the wasabi mayo version is gone, but this one is still a hit. Crunchy, juicy prawns—so delicious! Teochew olive oil vegetable (55K, small) – A must-order. Savory, flavorful, and really ties the whole meal together!
Sadly, this one dish is quite failed: Hometown tofu in king sauce (60K, small) – The tofu was nice, but the sauce was a bit too salty for my taste. Always ordered chinese tea for neutralize the flavor!
I’ve brought so many friends here over the years, and they always end up coming back on their own. Also, recommend trying the Pacamkee chicken too—one...
Read moreVisited Soup Restaurant at Plaza Indonesia for dinner. They offer varieties menus of Chinese foods. In this visit for dinner, I ordered their Tahu Claypot (Claypot Tofu), Tenderloin ala Mongolia (Mongolian Tenderloin) and Nasi Goreng Yang Chow (Yang Chow Fried Rice). All the menus are nice but all kinda bland for me. Their Tahu Claypot is basically egg tofu with claypot sauce only without any veggies or meats on it (it's recommended by the staff when I asked about the most favorite tofu menu). Their Tenderloin ala Mongolia sadly isn't to my liking (the base is kinda sweet in my opinion and I more prefer salty based foods). Their Nasi Goreng Yang Chow is the same as any other Chinese foods restaurant in Jakarta. Totally appreciated the staff hospitality and fast response for everyone. They're always busy throughout any hours especially during lunchtime and dinner time. So you guys need to wait more during their busy hours. For this visit to Soup Restaurant Plaza Indonesia, i'm gonna rate them 2.85 out of 5. For more info about foods, kindly visit...
Read moreThe food is good and price is reasonable I ordered the traditional food of the day, and we got pumpkin soup for the soup It was reallly good. The soup broth is very thick and fragrant. That’s why it’s called the Soup Restaurant i guess 😃
The thing that can be improved is really the service. We asked a few questions about the menu but the staff was not really knowledgable about the menu. For example, we asked what type of Kerapu is used for the steam Kerapu and she didnt know or didnt even try to ask the kitchen. We asked what tofu is used for the claypot tofu (issit egg tofu or the standard tofu, she said is standard non- egg tofu, but turned out to be egg tofu) Would recommend more staff especially during festive days like CNY eve to maintain the service quality
