ChatGPT You said: Please help me writing a review for Laughing Buddha restaurant. The ambiance is nice, they have live music from 7:30pm which is nice, but very loud as well. The vibe overall is good, people are enjoying themselves. The cocktails are not good. We had Mojitos during Happy Hour. Small glasses, not a nice taste. We had Thai Chicken Curry - looked ok, but tasted average. The burger looked nice, again only average. The Chrispy Chicken was ok, buy the smashed potatos were odd. Would I come back ? Not for the food, but maybe for a couple of beers. ChatGPT said: Sure! Here’s a concise and honest review based on your feedback: Review for Laughing Buddha Restaurant The ambiance at Laughing Buddha is definitely a highlight — cozy with a lively vibe, especially once the live music kicks in around 7:30 PM. That said, the volume can get overwhelming if you're looking for conversation over dinner. People around us seemed to be having a good time, and the atmosphere feels social and energetic. However, the food and drinks didn’t quite live up to the setting. We tried the Mojitos during Happy Hour, but they came in small glasses and lacked flavor. On the food front, we sampled a few dishes: the Thai Chicken Curry and the burger looked promising but tasted pretty average. The Crispy Chicken was decent, though the smashed potatoes on the side felt like a mismatch. Overall, I wouldn't return for the food or cocktails, but the upbeat vibe and live music might draw me back for a casual beer or two.

The management here was terrible. I was verbally disrespected by the staff here on countless times. The lady who was in charge of the register at the time swore and pulled the finger at me because I didn't have the right change at the time telling me I was 'cheap' and I should 'never come back' (I'm assuming she was the manager considering everyone was listening to her). She also seemed to be verbally abusing her staff. She told me I'd have to pay 100,000 IDR extra through my card which I was happy to do if it meant paying for what I got. Luckily I had a friend lend me extra change, but if worse came to worse the 100,000 would of sufficed. The lady was aggressive towards me considering I didn't buy a drink from the bar despite the fact I had bought a meal for the night. I had refused a drink due to being sick with Bali belly for the entire week and the smartest option was to get some food in my stomach. Regardless the situation could of been avoided by a calm and collected discussion, it's quite sad I didn't get the chance to do that over constantly being yelled at. The situated ended as the lady telling me to 'get out and never come back'. Regardless the music and atmosphere was great if it wasn't for that one situation. Ive never experienced anything like that before and was honestly quite shocked. I hope no one else does either.

You absolutely must, MUST stop at this little bar for good music and good party then next time you are in Ubud. I have been to Bali twice and my trip is incomplete without going to Laughing Buddha. They have live music bands and this place will be absolutely packed by 10pm so make sure you arrive here around 9pm and get yourself a table. The drinks and food are inexpensive. The prices are the usually prices you will encounter at other restaurants in Ubud. I enjoy the local beer- Bintang. I also tried the local rose wine but would not recommend. Their pad Thai was good. It is a great place to meet people. The first time I was here, I met a group of people from Belgium and we danced like crazy at this bar and further, we ended up spending the rest of the trip with each other. It was the best!

Went on a Friday night and the Latin / Cuban band were fantastic .I can’t fault them at all. Hence the 2 stars . But 1 star for food and rude waiter. Ordered a fish Tom Yam , must have had 2 small strips of fish and a few mushrooms , piece of ginger and strip of lemongrass , came with rice . 95,000 . I have had better Tom yams by street sellers for a quarter of the price. Next the drinks , ordered a watermelon mint daiquiri, which was OK but could really taste the alcohol. As still happy hour I could get 2 for the price of 1 . I ordered a watermelon pineapple mojito but what came looked exactly the same as the last drink. I checked with the guy next to me as I reckoned he had the drink I wanted and he confirmed my drink wasn’t correct. I called over a waiter and said this was the wrong drink he took it away and then said sorry this is what you ordered. I said it wasn’t .I got the same response from another waiter .When I finally saw the waiter that took my order I said I didn’t order this drink .He rudely said you did. Basically he was calling me a liar and would not get me what I ordered . He was very rude and put a bad feel to my night. Where is the customer service . I have read other reviews which have said the same. Given the wrong order and then made to pay for it .BE Warned .NOt sure if there are better places to go for live music but the food is overpriced and poor and 1 male member of staff is down...
