The management here was terrible. I was verbally disrespected by the staff here on countless times. The lady who was in charge of the register at the time swore and pulled the finger at me because I didn't have the right change at the time telling me I was 'cheap' and I should 'never come back' (I'm assuming she was the manager considering everyone was listening to her). She also seemed to be verbally abusing her staff. She told me I'd have to pay 100,000 IDR extra through my card which I was happy to do if it meant paying for what I got. Luckily I had a friend lend me extra change, but if worse came to worse the 100,000 would of sufficed. The lady was aggressive towards me considering I didn't buy a drink from the bar despite the fact I had bought a meal for the night. I had refused a drink due to being sick with Bali belly for the entire week and the smartest option was to get some food in my stomach. Regardless the situation could of been avoided by a calm and collected discussion, it's quite sad I didn't get the chance to do that over constantly being yelled at. The situated ended as the lady telling me to 'get out and never come back'. Regardless the music and atmosphere was great if it wasn't for that one situation. Ive never experienced anything like that before and was honestly quite shocked. I hope no one else does either.

You absolutely must, MUST stop at this little bar for good music and good party then next time you are in Ubud. I have been to Bali twice and my trip is incomplete without going to Laughing Buddha. They have live music bands and this place will be absolutely packed by 10pm so make sure you arrive here around 9pm and get yourself a table. The drinks and food are inexpensive. The prices are the usually prices you will encounter at other restaurants in Ubud. I enjoy the local beer- Bintang. I also tried the local rose wine but would not recommend. Their pad Thai was good. It is a great place to meet people. The first time I was here, I met a group of people from Belgium and we danced like crazy at this bar and further, we ended up spending the rest of the trip with each other. It was the best!

I was there a bit late. Arrive at 21.00 the tables are full. But the music was alive! And I can feel the fun vibe. So, I decided to stay and listen to music from the pedestrians. Until we saw an empty, and asked the waiter if we could sit there and the waiter said ok. So, we sat and enjoyed the music. I was already eating, so I'm not hungry. And I ordered sparkling water. I don't drink alcohol btw. After about an hour, the waiter came and showed me this "rule" that says that I must spend 100k per person. But, first of all the rule said "for a reserved table" and I didn't even reserve a table. Just to say my honest opinion, that response from the waiter really had my vibe ruined. But overall, the music was fun!

The venue had a great ambience and enjoyable music, however, the service was unsatisfactory. Our order consisted of several starters and two main courses, one of which was the Thai Red Curry. Unfortunately, the curry had a sweet taste and contained tomatoes, which we didn't like. We politely requested the manager to replace it with a different dish, but he appeared uninterested and didn't offer any alternatives. Consequently, we decided not to consume the curry, but we were still charged for it along with the steamed rice. It seemed that the bar was overcrowded, and the staff didn't prioritize providing quality customer service. The Laughing Buddha café was a prime example of such substandard service in Bali.

This lively bar is a hub of energy, especially with its great live band music. The band encouraged guests to sing and dance along, creating a joyful and interactive atmosphere. Even though the place is small, people made the most of the space by dancing in the middle area. We were informed that different bands play every night from around 8 to 11 PM, ensuring a unique experience each visit. The staff was friendly and contributed to the enjoyable ambiance. For an unforgettable night of music and dancing, make sure to arrive early to get a good spot. The vibrant atmosphere, excellent music, and friendly staff make Laughing Buddha Bar a good place to hangout in Ubud.

If you are looking for an entertaining evening of live music and great food at a reasonable price than check out the Laughing Buddha Bar on Monkey Forest Road in Ubud. I went there for the first time last Saturday and I was blown away by the caliber of the musicians who were there that night. I was amazed how they could pack so much musical talent on such a small stage but the 6 members of the band made it work. On Saturday evening the band was called Legends of Blues. I am told there is a different band every night and they are all equally talented. I also found the food and service to be excellent. Recommended for an entertaining night out in downtown Ubud
