After myself and three others entered this establishment we were left waiting for 10 minutes as a manageress walked past several times. After saying we needed a table for 4 she proceeded to say "I'm not sure if we have any tables available and you can only stay for an hour and a half" There were 4 booths free and 2 tables. After being sat we further had to wait another half hour before we were served, we had to ask to be served 3 times and kept getting told by the manageress "I'll get a waiter" she never did and after the third time asking she decided to get off of her phone and serve us. 15 minutes later our starters come, I have never had garlic bread before that tasted to dry, there was no garlic on it. 25 minutes after that we received our mains, I tried a slice of my partners pizza and it was also dry and bland, my carbonara was tasteless too I had to get up out of my seat to find a waiter to ask for some condiments for the table. This has got to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant, the staff never once came down to check on any tables to see how the food was, to take orders or to even give us the bill. Absolutely unacceptable and I'd advise others not to come here, especially after reading other reviews too, I wish I had read them before entering this place.

Myself and another two ladies were waiting to be seated for 20 minutes. I had to ask the waiter when the person would come to seat us. Note there were at least 5 open tables without anyone seated. Maybe the staff was having a bad day or I chose the wrong time to eat. Or the equipment wasn’t working properly. The waitress seemed like she was doing me a favour taking my order. My glass was dirty, so I decided to drink straight from the bottle instead. I ended up eating a very tasty pizza with my hands because even the cutlery was dirty. Not sure the pics show the dirt very well because of the lighting. The couple sitting next to me must have thought I was a Neanderthal eating with my hands. Great tasting pizza but terrible service. Hence I only provide 3 Michelin stars.

It’s my first time to try here though I’ve seen them a lot around the city. I ordered the Sloppy Giuseppe pizza and highly recommend it. The crust for me is just about right. not too thick nor too thin. Tastes really good too. The lemonade was okay, nothing spectacular. Coffee was pretty good. Paid 23 for everything. 3 because service can be better. Got to wait to get seated even if there were only 2 tables occupied at the time. Came for late lunch around 3pm on a Thursday. The waitress wasn’t really pleasant too and she was prolly cleaning the utensils and it made such awful noise. Theres a glass of water on every table even before you sit but they don’t really serve water unless you ask for it

We visited milanos in dawson street this evening with our two children, one of whom has allergies and if I could give 0 stars I would! The whole experience was appauling. Our server was very rude, patronising and abrupt from the get go, we just seemed like too much hassle for her! I was looking through the allergen booklet and simply asked a question about whether the "spelt and wheat dough" was the same that was used for the pizza base (as previously we had to avoid wheat and was looking to check the contents of the regular pizza base as we had only had gluten free base before) and she snapped back saying what pizza do you want.... I explained that we had allergies and she just sighed again saying what do we want?! Any other time we visited milanos or pizza express the servers have been fantastic, asking what allergies and reassuring re:safe choices. She just made me feel very uncomfortable and pressured when choosing our meals and we felt like an inconvenience. When the order arrived it was a different topping than was ordered (pulled turkey instead of the ordered pulled pork) and I was anxious in case it contained an allergen. A different member of staff who brought our order to the table said it was pulled turkey not the chicken and pulled pork that was ordered. I then asked another member of staff who sent our server back over and I explained it tasted like pulled turkey not pork and I was worried in case it had allergens in it and she just said "it's pulled pork" very rudely and walked off! She came back again when she seen the pizza wasn't being eaten and asked what the problem was and I explained that it couldn't be eaten until we knew if it contained any allergens and had to ask for the allergen booklet which lucky enough the topping was safe but she insisted that it was pulled pork not turkey. I advised it would be eaten regardless of the topping as long as it was safe but the customer care was disgusting telling a customer that what they were tasting was pork when it distinctly tasted like turkey and stuffing. Made me wonder what else they lied about which makes for very uncomfortable dining when your anxious regarding allergies. The other tables orders seemed to arrive much quicker and it took about 10 mins to get the children's desserts, an ice cream and a lolly!!! I advised a hostess & manager of our poor experience and they were apologetic and advised they would speak to the staff member which they did but her attitude remained the same, patronising and rude and she never even offered an apology. I will never return to milanos (even though our choices are limited with allergies) but I couldn't relax and enjoy our meal and the lies about the topping where the final straw! Don't eat here if your concerned about allergies and like a relaxing...

I have been a Milanos/Pizza Express customer for several years and yesterday evening decided to treat my friend and I to a meal out here for her birthday. Both of us work very hard, her a business owner, I a store manager, so for us to get out was a real treat in itself. However on this occassion we had a terrible experience which has me certain I'll never return to this Milanos branch and maybe no Milanos branch in future. When we came in the greeting was nothing short of there's a table, sit at it, there's a menu. Another guy took our order, he was much more welcoming and suggested we each try a glass of a specific wine. We did. Aside from the initial lackluster welcome, all was going ok so far and looked promising. When our food came, dropped to our table again by someone else, we tucked in. Halfway through eating my pizza leggera I managed to knock my full wine glass to the ground and smashed it. My fault. And I was so embarrassed. Staff eventually cleaned it off the ground but didn't help wipe the table. Glass shattered on to my food and into my glass of water, and all over me. I wasn't hurt. But it was embarrassing and upsetting. After picking the shards off the floor with a dustpan, the staff member threw a bundle of tissue paper at me (a hint to wipe the table myself I took it) and after that avoided our table like the plague. I wanted to order another wine given I knocked a whole one, and as someone who works in a customer service environment with a prior back ground in food service, this would of been the first thing I'd have offered a person who dropped their drink/food etc. Fair enough, I'd be charged for it. But it wasn't offered and like I said staff avoided our table like the plague. I had to sit while my friend finished her food and wine, unable to even sip my water due to large chunks of glass in it. In the end, my friend loudly excused the server who greeted us originally to ask for the bill. We sat and sat and waited for him to come by again to take it, he didn't so we stood up and eventually he came over. We had planned on dessert and coffee, and I usually tip generously but felt the service didn't so much as deserve the price I paid for 2 pizzas and 1 glass of wine, 2 if you count the one that broke. In fact it didn't even deserve the price I paid for 1 glass of wine.

Sorely disappointed former...

I can not tell you how awful of an experience I had at this place today. I arrived to the restaurant and there were few people there. I was thinking “great, there’s only a few of us to wait on so things won’t be that bad”.

The waitress disappeared into the back and there was no one to take my order for what felt like too long.

After taking my order she asked me did I want any drinks and I said tap water was fine.

There were about 4 tables in total. The biggest being one of maybe 4 people.

I waited patiently for the water. My first course arrived and went and I realised I still didn’t have any water.

After the main course was brought out I asked the waitress for the water and she obliged.

I started to notice as I was eating my food that the waitress and manager spoke to each other across the room.

At one point the waitress was on one side of me and the manager and herself were having a conversation, quite loudly.

It felt like I wasn’t even there. I put in my earphones at one point just to try to drown out their loud voices.

I’ve never felt so invisible in my life.

At one point the waitress came over to my table to wait on me and continued to converse, rather loudly, with another table that had just paid and were leaving.

It was all just a little bit strange and incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. It felt like what I imagine it’s like when the restaurant closes and the staff are alone, shouting across the length of the room. It was all just really weird.

It was as if there was no one in the restaurant. It was as if the staff, manager included, had never worked in a restaurant before.

Hands down worst experience in a restaurant in my life. Never had a dining experience so horrible. I couldn’t enjoy my food at all.

And to top it all off, after waiting for the waitress to reappear after disappearing someone again, she obliged to bring me the bill and handed me a card machine after typing in the balance owed I went to tap my card and she said to me I needed to “follow the instructions on screen”, she was expecting a tip. A tip! She had the nerve to ask me for a tip! She gave me a machine asking me if I wanted to leave a...
