Shockingly Unprofessional Management and Inflexible Service
I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the experience I had at this establishment yesterday. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst customer service encounters I have ever had.
After placing our takeaway order at the counter, we were instructed to wait outside. When our order was ready, we discovered that it was incomplete. We had received our main dishes (the sauces) but there was absolutely no rice included.
I queued up again to resolve this simple issue. I politely asked to purchase a side of rice to go with the meals we had already paid for. To my astonishment, I was informed that this was not possible. The staff insisted that I would have to purchase entirely new significantly more expensive fried rice meals instead.
When I stated that this policy was unreasonable, a manager was brought to the counter. His behaviour was utterly unprofessional and dismissive. He did not say a single word. He offered no explanation, no apology, and made no attempt to find a solution. He simply stood there shaking his head with a bored and contemptuous expression on his face, as if my valid complaint was an inconvenience to him.
This silent, disdainful treatment from a person in a managerial position is simply unacceptable. A simple mistake (the missing rice) could have been easily rectified. Instead, it was escalated by inflexible policies and culminated in the most disrespectful behaviour I have ever witnessed from a manager.
Ultimately, I returned the incomplete food to the counter and left empty-handed. No refund was offered, and given the manager's hostile attitude, I had no desire to engage further.
An incomplete order is a mistake, and I am at least partially to blame for it, even though as a foreigner I couldn't think of a possibility of not getting rice wit the sauce. A complete and utter failure in customer service, spearheaded by a dismissive manager, is a choice. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment unless you are willing to risk a similar, frustrating, and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Xian Street Food in Dublin, Ireland, and it was an absolute delight. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Spicy Bag – a flavorful masterpiece that left my taste buds dancing.
The Spicy Bag, despite its name, struck the perfect balance of spice, offering a tantalizing kick without overwhelming the palate. The crispy chicken and chips were expertly cooked, boasting a delightful crunch that added a satisfying texture to every bite.
What set this dish apart was the harmonious blend of salt, chili, and chili sauce. The seasoning was impeccable, creating a symphony of flavors that complemented each other beautifully. The heat from the chili was just right, enhancing the overall taste without overshadowing the other elements.
The ambiance of Xian Street Food added to the overall experience. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The authenticity of the place added a touch of charm, making it a standout spot for those seeking genuine Chinese street food in the heart of Dublin.
In addition to the Spicy Bag, the menu offered a variety of other tempting options. The culinary journey through Xian Street Food was a delightful exploration of Chinese flavors, showcasing the diverse and rich tapestry of regional cuisine.
Overall, Xian Street Food left a lasting impression on me. From the first bite of the Spicy Bag to the friendly service and inviting ambiance, it's a gem in Dublin's culinary scene. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving an authentic and memorable Chinese street...
Read moreWe ordered: *Braised meat with rice: the meat was blend and not very tender.
*Xi'an famous biang biang noodles with pork and duck meat: the pork was blend, the duck was extremely chewy, the noodles also very chewy and they were swimming into a greasy sauce.
*Pad thai noodles: wrong noodles for Pad Thai , very chewy noodles and the topping was mostly some shredded carrots.
King Prawn Tempura with eel sauce: it was worst than buying them premade and frozen and then microwave them. They looked small, were only 5, no presentation, no tempura batter, they were bread crumbled but the crust was saggy and cooked in burnt oil as their color turned dark brown and the taste slightly bitter. The eel sauce was tasting like the one bought in a bottle not made into the restaurant.
Info for the chef:"Braising (from the French word braiser) is a combination-cooking method that uses both wet and dry heats: typically, the food is first browned at a high temperature, then simmered in a covered pot in cooking liquid (such as wine, broth, coconut milk or beer). It is similar to stewing, but braising is done with less liquid and usually used for larger cuts of meat."
2 stars for the staff efforts and smile. All this was worth 63€. Probably the worst money I ever spent. There is plenty competition outside. If you try asian food for the first time in here, don't get disappointed, there are plenty delicious restaurants out there. (Attached picture 1 Xi'an dish 2 Pad Thai 3...
