Tapas is meant for sharing which this restaurant is short of.
The only positive review i can give is that the food and drink where quick and the food was good. Now the bad which is size of dishes are small at best , the size of which is just short of an ash tray.
Another negative is one or more of the dishes cant be shared which is the Manchego Burger which is just one burger rather then a group of small ones for sharing amongst friends. Anyone who was went to an actual Tapas bar in Spain is going to be disappointed in the quantity on the supposed quality being offered with the asking price which with being located in Temple Bar just screams the words "Tourist Trap". Places around Temple Bar you are more eating for the location and not because you're hungry.
We asked the waiter on the size of the dishes in comparison and was told that its authentic Irish which does not excuse the small overpriced dishes. A potato bravas dish was mostly half a potato rather then a bunch.
Its a real crime that people who visit Tapas places like this along with Salamanca on Andrew Street are really missing out on what tapas restaurants really are and i recommend you go to one next time you're in Spain. Overall the meal was 3 beers and 4 small dishes which came to just under €65.00. The quantity of food was a starter levels at most.
Would i recommend this place , answer is no i would not. Dublin has yet to have a Tapas restaurant that truly feels like the local Spanish cuisine. Best way to explain the size of the food is to Google image search Tapas dishes and just imagine them smaller and more expensive. The previous reviews show screenshots of the dishes just so you know what you are getting yourself into.
+1 Food was tasty as was the beers +1 Food was quickly delivered -1 Food was small , like ash tray small -1 Food was expensive for its quantity -1 Some of the dishes cant be shared which defeats the purpose.
Another small point is the menu which lists the dishes in Spanish which the waiter at the time was not sure of the order when we mentioned them. Spanish is not a foreign language to us as we visit quite often.

Read moreThe food here was really good. There’s a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and the lighting makes it very cosy.
Unfortunately, I can only give three stars for the following reason. Our waiter asked us if we would like to see the dessert menu, to which we said yes. We then ordered dessert. Half way through our dessert, the waiter came over to tell us that there was another booking for the table we were sitting at and that they needed the table back. She proceeded to gesture with her hands that we needed to hurry up and asked us could she bring us the bill.
The bill was brought over rapidly. We finished our dessert and paid the bill, all through a very pressurising process.
However, we still had a glass of wine left to drink. The manager came over and told us he needed the table. We asked if he could do something about the drinks to which he immediately said no. We then requested at least a takeaway cup seeing as we had paid for the drink. He also said no and didn’t even seem apologetic in any way. He then said we could go upstairs and stand at the bar. That was fine. When we got up there, the bar was full. We waited and then a small area cleared which he said we could stand. A few minutes later he came over and told us to move to another area as we were apparently blocking staff.
This whole scenario just really put a dampener on our experience. It was such a shame as we were really enjoying our night until we were rushed out of the place.
It’s disgraceful that they let us order dessert before telling us about the time limit on the table? Had our waiter let us know that they needed the table back at a certain time before letting us order dessert, I would have had no problem. However it is totally greedy and ignorant to allow us order dessert and then tell us to hurry up once it’s been put on the table.
They really need to put more effort into their customer experience and communicate clearly and early on if they require a table back at a...
Read moreHad a wonderful girls night dinner here on Wednesday with my friend.
I've been fancying trying Pintxo for a while having seen it when walking around town and it didn't disappoint!
Inside there are a few areas, the upstairs area you can see from the street which is quite dark with orange tinged lighting, an upstairs back area with more white lights and an airy feel and downstairs which is darker again. We were sat in the upstairs darker area and it was very nice. The restaurant can be a little loud but nothing too hard to handle.
The seats and benches have a quirky layout in places but overall they make good use of the space available and at no point did we feel penned in!
We asked for a recommendation on wine and the bottle we got was delicious. It wasn't expensive either which we were very happy with!
The food was also amazing. Everything came out pretty quickly but was all delicious. Some favourites were the padron peppers and Gambas pil pil (both of which is go back for!)
The restaurant is not really suitable for children and isn't very wheelchair/pushchair friendly as there are stairs to either floor as soon as you enter.
The bathroom are downstairs at the back and we're very clean and tidy.
All of the staff were lovely and very helpful.
We didn't have to book, there were a few tables available, but I'd suggest booking as it was fairly close to full.
The restaurant is best suited for date nights, dinners with friends and family (not really children) or colleagues.
We are already trying to work out...
