Temple Bar Apartments — Local services in Dublin

Booked through booking app and the images and address provided were actually wrong as well as stating there was a lift when there isn’t. We were not allowed to check-in before 4pm and even then you could not contact the owners- didn’t answer their phone (we weren’t the only ones who arrived at that time). Cryptic messages and videos sent via WhatsApp to find the apartment keys. We booked for a week but the apartment was in Crow Street not Temple Lane South as advertised and the images were of a different apartment. The day after arrival we ended up booking a return flight for the following evening home. We contacted the apartment owners and booking app along with images of the condition of the apartment. In return the owners concocted a lot of lies and allegedly in 2 days total somehow 2 people (who ate out both morning and evenings) managed to create 5 bags of rubbish- they even added a huge Guinness store bag- we hadn’t even shopped there! The balcony was overgrown and covered in broken glass. The light at the top of the stairwell was burnt, flickered and uncased. There is a water leak in the same stairwell that made dangerous puddles and the wooden door swelled shut due to it- we worried at one point we would be stuck in. The bathroom is tiny (different to the image on the booking app) the apartment itself is up 3 flights of stairs- once you have found it!! Again we had cryptic clues on how to find it but only 1 clue matched. The couch was broken, utensils in the kitchen were not clean, and as for free toiletries... they were running low and dusty. The spiral staircase is rickety and held together by tape! Don’t underestimate the noise either- single glazed windows (or it feels like it- that don’t open)- we live near a pub so expected some noise but this was extreme and goes on until the very early hours- including Sundays. Security deposit taken very quickly but not returned. We are not the first and not the last to be hustled. They have poor communication and just want to take your money. Luckily I took photos when we arrived and when we left. Please read the reviews for Crow Street apartments not Temple Lane South. It was a very costly 2 day trip. I don’t want others to experience what we did. The only good thing was it was in waking distance to most of the attractions...

Nor one to write reviews but this has to be known. It is overpriced for what you get.

Our stay at The key collections “aparthouse”.

At first it seems nice to look at and a nice clean house. It is a 5 min walk from where you get your keys and is very central temple bar is very close. This part is very beneficial but don’t be fooled.

When we tried to shower, there seemed to be an issue and when we turned on the hot tap same issue. First when you turn on the hot tap it is burning hot but with barely no water, just a touch of the cold tap and its freezing. When we rang reception they “sent someone to do it” and we sat and waited for 35 mins even though the premises is 5 min walk away. This is at 1 o clock in the morning we had arrived at 11:30pm from a flight and all we wanted was a shower and a bed to sleep in as we were wrecked and it didn’t even meet those two requirements. Upon arrival the man was nice but not helpful he just said something about his own place being the same way. We paid €85 for this place the least it should have is a bed and running water.

A loud humming noise was throughout the house for the whole night also. Along with this there was loads of dust and even an empty bottle on the floor around the bed, it was very dirty and seemed barely ran through before our stay. Also a minor issue that didn’t bother us but may bother some was the wifi didn’t work.

Absolutely worst service! Be ready to wait past 4pm to check in. Staff is rude and not helpful at all. Small lobby area that will be crowded with people waiting to check in as they refuse to let people in before 4pm but gets worse, the actual apartments are not at same location as reception. After 4pm you'll sit around and wait the ONE "check in agent" to show up and walk you to the actual location. When you book it says 5 crow street NOT TRUE!! The building is NOT there not even down the block!! It was a 10, 15min walk (its Dublin so obviously was raining) and we arrived soaked to this mysterious building. Oh, and NO ELEVATORS either, it was a 4th floor walkup. Now, seriously? BTW, its non refundable that's how they get you! We complained about location fake advertising and their answer? "Send us an email & we'll forward to management." Yeah thats Ridiculous! What a great customer service LOL Furniture is old and dirty, see picture of stained chairs, GROSS!!! Now, lets talk about waste of time! Rooms need renovations all around... bottom line stay away
