Osteria del Buonumore — Restaurant in Como

To begin with, the initial menu that I got was in Italian and I was told that there was no English alternative. Thus I had to Google translate it. Later on it turned out that actually there was a complete version of it with English translation.

When the dish list was clarified with a waitress I asked her to bring me an omelette. What I got was a mediocre parody for this dish. It was tiny (probably made of half an egg) and really liquid - more like a warm kogel mogel. It is not like I don't like kogel mogel but bringing a substance resembling it and calling it an omelette is an act of dishonesty.

After the omelette I asked to bring a salad with chicken breasts. It was delivered surprisingly quickly. The reason of fast delivery became clear right away - the breasts were precooked and just heated in a microwave. And based on meat hydration I immediately concluded that it was cooked a week ago or so. The meat could be used to make a "knock-knock" noise.

I notified the waitress about my disappointment and she promised to resolve the problem. Instead of doing so I was given another chicken breast of the same poor quality. I notified here again and politely asked to take back the dish and give me and my friend a bill.

The waitress apologized again and brought a bill where I was charged for that chicken salad that I didn't even touch saying that the cook insisted that the breasts were fresh enough.

Yeah. And they also included "a service fee" into the bill. What a mockery.

İ was here with my wife for a dinner and wow, was i surprised by the REALLY bad service and way too small portions.

Already when arriving there my gut feeling was telling me 'don't order here, leave' and should have followed my gut feeling and done that. İt seems to me that the waiters were not trained at all or have no idea of what they are doing: super slow service and almost forgot us when we actually wanted to order. Also not to mention basically just throwing the menu's into our direction and expecting us to understand and know everything (and a 3€ cover for each just for doing nothing). And then at the end when we actually were about to pay, waiting for 15 minutes trying to get the waiters attention asking if we would want to have dessert just asking 'dessert?'

We had 3 pastas for 18€ each and omg how tiny those portions were - never would that cost 18€ even though being hand made, for 8 pieces of pasta. The food was alright, not the best. Never again, way too overpriced, service terrible and...

Awful service. We only took pastas. Quite expensive for average food. I had some pachieri with clams, mussels and 1 cray fish. The crayfish was black at the abdomen with a "gummy" consistance, i preferred to avoid it. Sauce was without flavour and liquid for me and my sisters as well (Spaghetti al vongole). We asked for payment and had to wait 20 minutes to pay directly to the cashier as we could not wait anymore. The (bald) waiter - really out of the blue- asked my sister for her phone number and insisted on given her his card to call him when she will be alone in the region... very disrespectful! maybe that the waiter should be reminded what his job consists in... We will not go there and can't recommend. We felt very annoyed / disturbed by...
