the strangest dining experience I've had in a long time. we entered to a place that was decorated quite nicely and were allowed our pick of basically any table which was good (there weren't many other customers). A few minutes after being given our menus we were asked if we wanted to order drinks, we asked for two coca colas, and for tap water (in English and in Italian) - the waitress stared at us with a blank expression in complete silence for 10 seconds. Eventually after leaving, a different waitress came back to tell us they couldn't do it because their water is bad. We tried really hard throughout to be friendly with the wait staff but were made to feel uncomfortable and difficult when we asked questions. My pasta came out lukewarm and hard. My partner's soup was supposed to have a special bread basket, candied tomatoes and basil sauce with it but we just got a half stale bread basket for the table with olive oil and balsamic at the beginning before the food came out, and no other bread with the soup. We tried to ask but were just told it's complementary, and then when we had another question about the additional sides we could not find a staff member until after food was eaten. The few questions we had asked had received a blank expression followed by walking away to ask someone else without giving us more info, which made us feel like nuisances. We were honest when asked if we enjoyed our food and just said it was ok, we ate it as were hungry and needed to get home but it just wasn't worth the money. We didn't want to seem like we were just complaining to try and get out of paying for the food and we felt uncomfortable in our interactions with the main waitress so we held our tongues, but I'm confused at how the reviews of this place vary so much from my own strange experience here. The music choices were also strange - mostly unusual remixes and one Christmas song (in September). None of the toilets had a working tap so there was no way to wash your hands. I'm sure the staff had just had a long day or something, but wanted to advise people it has a strong vibe of a corporate chain, with food overpriced and staff mostly unfriendly. Given the response to other bad reviews of this place I would be really surprised if they were receptive to this feedback so just passing the message on to other...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Blend Eat restaurant in Florence, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with unbelievable service that set the tone for our experience.
Initially, we had only planned to stop by for drinks, but after meeting the staff we decided to come back the next night for dinner. And let me tell you, it was a decision we did not regret. The food at Blend Eat was nothing short of amazing.
We ordered the steak Florentin. We ordered it with no specific expectations, but what we received was truly extraordinary. The steak was perfectly cooked to our liking, tender and juicy with a delectable charred exterior. The flavors were robust and mouthwatering, leaving us craving for more.
However, it wasn't just the food that made our experience exceptional. The service and teamwork amongst the staff were truly commendable. They made us feel welcome and went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed.
Furthermore, the ambience of Blend Eat was beautiful and clean. The restaurant had an elegant and modern design, with tasteful decor.
In conclusion, Blend Eat is a restaurant in Florence that you simply must experience. The exceptional service, along with the amazing food, makes it a standout dining destination. Whether you're planning a casual drink or a full-blown meal, you won't be disappointed. The steak Florentin is a must-try, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is both inviting and refined. If you're looking for an unforgettable culinary experience in Florence, Blend Eat is the...
Read moreWe picked the place because they serve vegan options, but confusions started already when arriving. We asked for a table and the waitress said yes and started walking, so we followed but she just went to serve another table, we had to ask where we can sit. We ordered drinks and food from another waitress. After 15 minutes the first one came and asked if we were going to eat. In few minutes the waitress from whom we ordered came back and said that one of the things we ordered cannot be made, because they were missing some ingredients so we changed one of the plates. After waiting again, the first waitress came with the plate, which was not supposed to be possible. The other waitress who asked about the change, just said ”ok perfect”. The other plates were a disappointment: size was minimal, the menu says sauteed mushrooms, fried cabbage but actually they weren’t on the plate (see pics). When we asked about this, the waitress answered suddenly only in italian telling us that those are in baked in the lentil patties (that actually were balls), but we’re quite sure that this was a lie. The food was tasteless. We were brought little plates ”for bread”, but no olive oil, balsamico etc. We left a bit...
