The Gold Market — Local services in Florence

Went to Italy this past May/June 2017. Took tour to Florence. Asked tour guide to take us to jewelry store she would use for herself: we have very unique request. She took us to The Gold Market at Piazza di Santa Croce. She couldn't be any more perfect on her suggestion. We were looking for new wedding rings, but most importantly, to celebrate my husband's 50th Birthday: the reason for the entire trip. There we met, Fadi, Rowie and Maria (manager). What an amazing group of people. We bought these unique looking etruscan rings. I am not crazy about anything "flashy" but these rings were simply spectacular. We both wear the same size in rings, so we bought matching pair of these etruscans rings. Needless to say when we show them to our friends and family, every single one felt in love with the unique beauty, craftsmanship, style: everything. Lost a stone :( Contacted them via email, and I was asked to send back to them, not only to offer to fix, but extremely apologetic for the unacceptable flaw: not the perfection they strive for on their products. Rings were sent back to Italy for repair and returned to Michigan in less than 3 weeks (once they have them with them). Definitely, a most visit (and more purchasing) on our next trip...

I purchased a beautiful gold diamond cut beaded necklace from The Gold Market (TGM) in Florence, Italy back in December 2022. Very unique here in California and I have had many compliments. It developed an issue and I needed to contact The Gold Market. I was apprehensive as we are on different continents. I thought it was going to be very difficult and that I may not receive a satisfactory resolution to the issue.plus it would be very expensive, etc.

My recent experience (May/June 2024) with MaryKate via email was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. TGM stood behind their product and resolved my issue to my satisfaction.

I needed to send the necklace back to Italy. Additionally, I also sent them a well loved and worn Italian chain with a broken link. It sat in my safe for years as I had not found a jeweler here in California to repair it. TGM jeweler was able to repair it and reinforced the other links.

If this is the place….my husband and I were engaged in Venice in 2000. Then we went on to Florence. I went into (I remember this was the store because the pictures flooded my memory) and bought the most beautiful gold necklaces. One for myself and my beautiful mother. I bought her a 24” figaro but it was feminine and I bought this twisted, mesh like necklace for myself. Anyway! Mom wear hers every day and I wear mine on special occasions. This was August of 2001. We are still married!!!!! I’ve never seen anything like this necklace in the states. Beautiful craftsmanship! I cannot express how many people ask about this necklace.

A woman who wrote a review a month before mine just made me cry reading her review. I am so happy she is here today and beat her breast cancer. God bless her. She was there 20 years ago.
