FIORIS — Restaurant in Florence

Quite possibly the best meal I’ve had in Florence — maybe in Italy — thus far.

The pizza has that lovely Tuscan crust without salt. It lets the freshness the Pomodoro sauce shine and the other ingredients stand up beautifully on top of the best sauce ever!

The overuse of “faux” truffles trend has made me truffle-wary. Not in this case. The black truffle ravioli was delicious. Just indescribable — real truffle in a very light creamy sauce. Perfect ravioli pillows — small, delicate, delicious. And we added a beautiful plate of grilled vegetables. Rigatoni al Ragu had my dinner partner wiping the bowl for every drop of sauce!

And lastly, perfect espresso and panforte.

Service was a pleasure and every person in the room besides us were Italians, so I’m thinking this is a hidden gem the tourists haven’t ruined! And the prices are VERY reasonable. €10 pizza! €15 truffle ravioli…

I never want to go back to the same place on the same vacation. But I’d come back here!!

As I wandered through the streets of the city, I felt the need to find a place with just the right vibe.

My craving for bruschetta guided me as I passed by countless restaurants, each one missing that certain spark.

I like to sit outside without people on all sides of me, so I’m a little particular when it comes to choosing a place.

Then, I stumbled upon a spot that seemed promising..

I checked the menu and was pleased to see bruschetta among the offerings.

The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, their friendliness setting the tone for a pleasant dining experience.

When the bruschetta arrived, it was good not amazing, but met my expectations.

I also decided to try the cheese plate, which turned out to be a disappointment. The selection lacked flavor and freshness, making it a regrettable choice.

We ordered pizzas and were very disappointed. The crust was extremely thick, which wouldn’t have been a problem if there had been enough toppings. Unfortunately, the amount of toppings was far too little for such a thick base. Also the dough itself wasn’t salty enough (tasteless). Overall the pizza was underwhelming. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. On the positive side, the limoncello was good. And nice atmosphere in hidden...
