The Boss was very polite and friendly, that was the reason we went in. I ordered the Pasta with wild boar ragout which was very good. That is why give two stars. My girlfriend ordered the panzanella frutti di mare. My girlfriend ordered panzanella frutti di mare. In the dish, the toasted bread (which makes the dish and which was also listed on the menu) was completely missing. We were confused at first but my friend started eating anyway. On her way to the restroom, she let the chef know that she thought the bread was missing from her dish. He apologized said something in Italian to the waitress, whereupon she brought a bread basket with white bread to the table and said something we didn't understand right away. We still confused, thought the bread is served separately in this restaurant with this panzanella dish and continued eating. After a while, my friend had almost finished eating, it occurred to us that the waitress/chef thought we had asked for extra bread instead of it being missing from the dish. So we called her over again and explained that it was completely missing from the dish. She asked if we were sure (as if she thougt we would lie to her) and when we said yes, she apologized. Unfortunately, nothing happened after that. She ignored us completely after that, so her colleague cleared our table after a long wait and brought us the bill, where the dish was charged at full price. Admittedly, the language barrier caused the misunderstanding. Nevertheless, the handling of it is very unfortunate. Worst spend 52 euros...

Gustavino at Piazza della Signoria is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning view of one of Florence’s most iconic squares. The ambiance is elegant yet inviting, making it perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish we tried—from the handmade pasta to the expertly prepared seafood—was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The Tagliatelle al Tartufo was a standout, and the Bistecca alla Fiorentina was cooked to perfection. Pair that with their excellent wine selection, and you have a truly memorable meal.
What really sets Gustavino apart is the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a fantastic dining experience. They even offered great recommendations that we loved!

Read moreSadly a bit of a let down given the many positive reviews. Maybe if we had had steak, we would have had a better experience! Caprese salad advertised as being served with mozzarella di buffalo was the more common sliced mozzarella often seen in the UK. The pasta was a mixed bag- the pasta itself was lovely. Freshly made and al dente pici. However, my carbonara was almost scrambled and far too thick and stodgy. Not the smooth, velvety sauce you'd expect. It also had thin slices of bacon in it instead of cubes of Guanciale as it should have. I think this restaurant caters more for tourists than Italians and this may be why they serve this variation of the dish. The bolognese was nice enough but nothing special. It is fairly pricey once you factor in the cover charge and drinks and you can definitely have a more authentic experience elsewhere for a similar price. The service was fine but quite sporadic and due to our inability to speak fluent Italian, we didn't feel like we could raise our concerns at...
