Made a booking for this restaurant after reading about it in “the 15 best Fiorentine steaks in Florence”.
One of the warmest, and most attentive, service we received from Michael and the owner. We were a big group of 9 and unfortunately, 7 of the group were running late. The owner of the restaurant was extremely understanding, not once upset or critical. He even brought out a plate of their pecorino with honey for us 2 while we waited.
Once everyone arrived, they brought out the Prosecco we ordered, which was amazing. Michael also brought out the red wine once he saw that the table was done with the Prosecco, without us having to remind or request.
The food came out in a well timed pace. The fried zucchini flowers were crispy and well salted. Their Bistecca, the table concurred that it was the best one we had in Florence - cooked perfectly, not too rare and not well-done, price was perhaps the most honest and reasonable in all of Florence.
Their pastas. Oh my word, the pici cacio e pepe was my absolute favourite followed by their special tagliatelle truffle, seafood pasta and their lasagne pesto.
Thank you, Osteria dell’Oca for a memorable last night...
Read more🌟 Tao's Google Restaurant Reviews 🌟 Saw the reviews and decided to try this place out. We got the papardelle with boar meat sauce and the ravioli. Firstly, just baseline, they do charge for seating and water, so you expect it. The food was very mediocre. The pasta came out lukewarm and barely with any flavour. The ravioli with cheese and spinach was also very mediocre in flavour. You could get pastas for way better prices and quality elsewhere. The waiter was also quite cold to patrons, not bringing any oil or vinegar for the bread (which was cold and stale), also quite cold in terms of personality and giving this weird sarcastic smile and side eye to patrons. I found it extremely disconcerting that we were being treated like this. Anyway, overall food and service was mediocre, plus you're paying higher prices here.

Read moreWe dined here both nights of our 2night stay in Firenze !! We have looked forward to the bistecca and it was " to die for"... as the were the vegetables. The house red wine was a perfect compliment! Everything was wonderful and cooked just right!! The service was great!!
The gentleman that greeted us like family was a perfect combination of welcoming but not hovering.. as well as the young waiter on our second night.
Everyone was treated with the same respect and graciousness.. it was difficult to determine who were regulars and first time diners there. Italians were dining there.. everyone was obviously enjoying their meals!
I was the signora in red and gold (they asked me to mention that)... we are planning on returning this week and bringing our Italian son -in-law and daughter and nipotino...
