**Review for Trattoria dall'Oste Chianineria ** If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Florence, Trattoria dall'Oste Chianineria is a must-visit. This restaurant stands out with its incredibly fresh and delicious dishes, which you can enjoy in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We opted for the set menu, which proved to be great value for the variety and quality of food offered. The meal started with a delightful array of appetizers that showcased the restaurant's commitment to fresh ingredients and flavorful preparations. One of the highlights of our meal was the Florentine steak. It was a generous portion, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. The steak, along with the other courses, made for a hearty and satisfying meal that was more than enough to fill us up. If you're keen to try Florentine steak, this is the place to do it. My daughter had the Ragu, and she loved it. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was rich and savory, making for a truly comforting dish. Every bite was a testament to the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The service at Trattoria dall'Oste Chianineria was amazing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Their knowledge of the menu and their recommendations enhanced the overall experience. In addition to the outstanding food, the restaurant also offers great drinks and awesome desserts. The Limoncello Spritz and Limoncello shots are a must-try, providing a refreshing and authentic taste of Sorrento. The beverage selection complements the meals perfectly, and the desserts provide a sweet ending to a fantastic meal. What makes Trattoria dall'Oste Chianineria even more refreshing is the overall experience, especially after having a couple of days where we paid a lot more for average food and encountered rude service elsewhere. Loved this place for its commitment to quality, affordability, and excellent customer service. Overall, Trattoria dall'Oste Chianineria in florence is thoroughly recommended for anyone who appreciates high-quality, fresh food, excellent service, and a delightful dining atmosphere. Deserts were amazing too

I gave an extra star for getting me seated, as I had apparently booked at another location and getting a discount after I complained about the service. Salad was served with only oil and no vinegar, while the other tables didn't seem to have that problem. Initially ordered a bottle of sparkling water, but received flat instead. Oh well. Now the interesting part, the meat... Yes, it certainly looked the part, but 800 grams seem to be a bit far fetched, even after you subtract the bone and excess fat. As far as the preparation goes, I did get what I had ordered, medium/rare. However, considering the price and the actual taste, quality and sky high ratings, I was definitely disappointed. One thing which made absolutely no sense, was bringing me a sizzling hot plate. I can understand a warm plate. To top it all off, the waiter never even returned to ask if I wanted a coffee, dessert or anything. Also not a fan to stand in line for paying my bill, yet in this case fitting, as a tip was not deserved whatsoever. Technically I gave a three star rating and bumped it up to four. Definitely doesn't live up to the hype, sorry!

**Disappointing Service Despite Decent Food** I visited this restaurant today around 2 pm without a reservation. Although they’re well-known for their steaks, we decided to skip them as we had steak dinner plans elsewhere later that evening. Instead, we opted for the beef tartare with truffle, thinking this would be a great spot for it. While we were seated quickly, the table itself was cramped, squeezed next to a cabinetry, making it uncomfortable to move. Although we didn’t have a reservation, the restaurant wasn’t busy—half the tables remained open even by the time we finished our meal, so the tight seating felt unnecessary. The tartare was delicious, but the pappardelle with ragu we ordered was just average. The pasta was a bit overcooked, and the ragu lacked the depth of flavor you’d expect. What really soured the experience, however, was the service, which I see echoed in many other reviews. Our server was disengaged, providing no conversation or recommendations, and seemed uninterested in making the dining experience enjoyable. Worse still, the server at the table next to us, dealing with a group of Korean tourists unfamiliar with the menu, was visibly impatient and irritated. His arms were crossed, and his short, dismissive responses made it clear he wasn’t interested in helping them, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. That same server had the guts to ask for tip, which we gave cash tip to the lady server who was the nicest of all of them. Friends who frequent Florence have recommended trying steakhouses further from the Duomo, such as Antico Ristoro, where I’m told the experience is much better. Based on today’s visit, I’ll be taking their advice next time.

It pains me to say that my visit here was a disappointment, in the context of what was actually fantastic food. We arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation, to be greeted by a front of house manager who, rather than welcoming us, informed us we'd be waiting a further ten minutes before our table was ready. She was fairly fraught. After being seated, we were brought a couple of menus and some bread but no plates to eat it on. When the waitress arrived she explained the menu in short, telling us what we should have if we were sharing between two. When we enquired about starters, we were told we wouldn't need them as we'd ordered enough food. "Is there a wine list?", we asked, having not been offered one. She brought it, we selected a wine only to be told it was "finito" and we should get a different bottle instead. We acquiesced. The steak we'd ordered arrived and it was incredible. The fries on the side were great, the beans delicious after seasoning. The food wasn't the issue with this visit. Instead, the real issue was feeling like we were on a factory conveyor belt. The restaurant had no real atmosphere, the service was lacking in warmth, the bill was delivered with a "pay at the front" dictate. As much as we loved the steak, we just wouldn't return or recommend. There's more welcoming and personal restaurants in Florence, and I'd sacrifice 10% on the quality of the steak for that.

The steaks we had were lovely and the restaurant is beautiful. Our issue was we originally booked this so we could try the Florentine steak but were too full after a day of wine tasting! We opted for the fillet steaks in the end in the pepper sauce which were cooked perfectly and lovely. We found the service a bit odd here. Our first waiter seemed a bit judgmental and it seemed like he no longer wanted to serve us when we said we didn't want the large Florence steak because we weren't massively hungry (i.e. we didn't want to spend as much). I was also hoping for the waiter's recommendation for what steak to get but he acted like I should know all the meats and therefore what I wanted. Our second waiter was much nicer and less judgemental than the first. I probably wouldn't come back to this restaurant because of the service (the waiters seem very up themselves). I've been to some world class steak restaurants in London and had a much nicer experience than this. We didn't stay long and won't be coming back.

Trust me, if you’re in Florence you do NOT wanna miss out on this place! Although I’m not a beef eater normally, I knew I had to break out and try some Florentine beef while in the region. There were a lot of top rated spots in the area that were all booked, but we managed to squeak in here without a reservation. Firstly, while we waited, they brought us Prosecco outside to enjoy. Actually GOOD Prosecco at that. Once inside we were seated in a lovely room away from the noise up front. The menu is quite extensive. My brother and father ordered steaks that looked amazing. I do not like steak at all so I ordered a burger with truffle sauce. This burger... my god... best burger ever. The truffle, the bun, the arugula, everything was perfect. I would recommend splurging on some side dishes, every one we ate was good. Again, if you’re in the area, give this place a try. Not sure if they do lunch but if you want dinner, book in advance. Even on a weekday in off season, there was a wait.
