The owner of the place was a wonderful host. I wanted to try something that he'd recommend and he offered a choice b/w Meatballs and Lasagna!
Lasagna being highly recommended - i opted for a late night meal. Unfortunately there was a heavy taste of oil. Having had Lasagna in a couple of other places - i knew that it was not just me.
So - great host, and the view of the church makes for great Ambience. Sadly the food was a bit of a let-down.
Perhaps there were other items on the menu, that were a great choice. I will not be recommending or taking any of my family members to this place for a meal :-).

Read moreNice location, was the first place with shaded outside seating we came across after long travel day into rome. Friendly waiters, and fast service getting a couple pizzas and cappuccinos. BUT real bad pizza - crust seemed to either be pre-made and/or made with just GP flour (ie, not 00 flour) so was hard, dense and flat, and toppings were limited and not able to save them… Spend a couple euros more per pizza and get better pizzas just about anywhere.. This place may go under other names - it bills as “cafe esqualino” and had another name on the signage.. May rename...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place. It's off the beaten path and worth the visit. Food was amazing, 100% better than the places closer to the touristy spots. Specials are great value for money. I paid the same here for a pizza, pasta and bottle of wine, that I paid for 2 Gelatos in the touristy areas.
