Go here. No ifs or buts. Go here.
After visiting the Colosseum, my partner and I were absolutely starving - I happened to look this place up on both TripAdvisor and Google Reviews.
Upon entering, we were greeted by Pablo - who instantly welcomed us as if we were entering his own household.
He offered the fried pizza for us to try as we were figuring out what to order - shortly bringing out 2 small cute fried pizzas in the classic margherita style.
Let me say this.
I. Have. Never. Had. Pizza. Like. This.
The fried pizza is absolutely AMAZING. It's a different take on the traditional pizza but it is delicious. The fried dough adds a unique depth to the flavour, giving it a perfect crunch whilst retaining a moist crust. MUST TRY.
After this, my partner and I decided upon another small pizza (pesto and confit tomatoes) and an cacio e pepe arancini for our starters. I would stay the arancini whilst good isn't mind blowing so go a small pizza for an entree.
For our mains, we had cacio e pepe and a amatriciana pasta. The cacio e pepe was quite great but needed a bit more punch (maybe more cheese or salt) but the sauce is awesome.
However.
The Amatriciana.
It is without a doubt. The most delicious pasta I've ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE.
The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente with the sauce having a very full meaty flavour from the pork cheek (basically bacon) and the whole dish was extremely balanced.
I would without a doubt recommend this dish, no question.
Finally, after we had finished (very full and happy) - Pablo was kind enough to offer us a try of his famous dessert, free of charge!
Out came the perfect ending to our meal - two deep fried dough balls covered in sugar and Nutella spread. The portions were the perfect amount where you could enjoy the sweet treat without it being too overpowering.
Adding to this perfect meal was the atmosphere. Pablo was an amazing host/waiter and simply made the experience for us. He treated us as family and proclaimed that 'good food is made with love' and he is the epitome of what Southern Italians are all about - great food, great people and great experiences.
I can not recommend this more than I could have.
To put this all into perspective for 2 entrees, 2 mains and a can of soft drink - the bill came to $24.50 euros. I have had meals up to 5 times as much and have not felt anywhere near to what I had experienced at Ce Stamo.
To Pablo and Emil (Chef), thank you so much. You made our day and have solidified Roma as the best part of my...

I was Rome for three days, and my best food experience was here.
We went on peak hours, hence we'd to wait for around 15-20 mins, but the WAIT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT.
Food: we tried spaghetti, lasagna. Both are recommended. It was tasted so fresh and good in taste!
I became an instant fan of their tiramisu ♥️
Price: we find the pricing very feasible, compared to our other place's experiences in Rome.
Serving time: Once we got the seat, it didn't take long..
Space: The space is kind of narrow, so if you're a large group, you might not get the grp space, but it also has another street food vibe place. The space is not a typical big restaurant type.
Behaviour: I should write a big essay about their behaviour, they're so nice, gentle, humble and so friendly!
I still remember the name of the guy Danielle (i hope I spelled it correctly). He is a very friendly gentleman, and I apologised multiple times to us for the delay in giving us space!
He also provided us fried pizza at the beginning, and since we endured a lot while waiting(!), he told us to provide a surprise at the end. And in the end, he brought tiramisu for us for free!
We liked his and his friend behaviour so much!
We also went another night for dinner, that time there wasn't that much queue, heard from them that during the peak hours, they struggle to tackle the queue.
You can try their desert items, too. We tasted them
SMALL HACK: Take away your orders instead of dine in. This will save your time, you won't have to wait for long, the food is the same.
BONUS TIP: it's a short walk from the metro station. Just beside this restaurant, you'll find a stairs. This is probably the shooting spot of John Wick 2. One of the fighting scenes took place here.
Whether for quick bite or dine in, this is a very, very underrated hidden gem in...
Read moreThis spot is awesome. Charming little shop. The team that works there are the best! All the other reviews that talk about the customer service are spot on! Very friendly. The food is really well prepared! We ordered Cacio pepe menta pistacchio e lime, Stracciatella and confit tomatoes montenara (fried pizza), and Genovese saccoccia. The pasta was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and the lime and mint played so well with the creaminess of the sauce. The fried pizza was fluffy and crispy. I think next time I would order a saucier or more flavorful option because the fried dough was the most prominent flavor against the very mild stracciatella and there were too few tomatoes for there to be acidity in each bite. But the preparation skill was there and I can see why those fried pizzas are popular! For me, the stewed beef saccoccia was the star! The stewed beef was perfectly cooked, very tender! It reminded me of a pot roast! My wife likened it to an Oxtail stew. Either way, it was fantastic and the pastry pocket it’s stuffed into was a flaky and delicate on the outside but soft underneath. We only ordered one and it went too fast! I wish we got one each. They’re sized more like an appetizer, but I’m thinking next visit will be 3 or 4 of these as my meal depending if I try anything else.
Lots more to love on the menu, but this is already too long. So in summary: very cool little spot, its a tight squeeze but the food is excellently prepared, a well rounded menu, great price, fun atmosphere, and the customer service is the best I had in rome! As an English speaker I give extra credit that they speak perfect english. It’s of course not necessary (or uncommon, in Rome) but we...
