AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! WORST food and service in Italy!

If you care about having even the slightest enjoyable experience do not go. We were hoping the reviews about the service were just harsh but in reality they paled in comparison to how awful it really was.

We waited 20 minutes and nobody approached our table. I had to flag someone down to even put a drink order in and she was EXTREMELY bothered by me doing so when all we were looking for was service. Waited ANOTHER 30 minutes before someone decided to show their face to take our order (both food and drinks) ANOTHER 30 minutes passed by and we get our food. To no surprise, we had still been waiting for our drinks (we ordered a house wine..) We finally get our food but it was unfortunately terrible so the wait was not worth it. Over salted and over cooked pasta, yum. We took a couple of bites each since we hadn’t eaten for 9+ hours but we honestly wouldn’t have even eaten more than that if we weren't that hungry. We then ask for our bill and noticed we were charged 4€ for 2 orders of bread that we didn’t ask for. We assumed it came with our pasta dishes since that’s customary at every single restaurant I’ve been to. Icing on the cake: ALESSANDRO who claimed he wasn’t our server (yet he took our order) was the NASTIEST and most rude server I’ve encountered in my life. I was in the hospitality industry for 7+ years in NYC and NOTHING could’ve justified this service. When I asked him about the bread cost he just showed me his finger (once again, being bothered by us asking a question) and proceeded to grabbing a menu to then show me the last page on the menu with fine print that was almost 3 paragraphs long that CONCLUDED with the cost of the bread. I don’t know about you but I don’t go to a restaurant to read a sonnet with fine print before placing an order. His explanation was that we should’ve refused the bread when he brought it over which was just absolutely mind blowing because it felt like they intentionally brought it over and expected us to just go along with it.

My boyfriend and I are the most understanding when it comes to bad service (stuff happens) and bad food (not the servers fault) but certainly not a bad attitude. Alessandro, you do not belong in the service industry and I hope you don’t ruin anyone else’s...

This is probably one of the hardest reviews I’ve ever written, because I really want to convince everybody to GO to this beautiful enchanting restaurant in the heart of Rome! The first time I ate here was back in November 2021 with my friends and it was recommended to me by a local. We were charmed by the place, the service, and the food! The second time I ate here was in October 2022, when I passed through Rome and I celebrated my birthday with a lunch with myself. The same quality in food and service! The third time: July 2023. And now it’s high time I wrote a review, because I found the same quality and the same tasty food that I remembered… And almost the same people in staff, a thing that I liked about this nice cute restaurant.

People have the tendency to stop in Campo de Fiori to eat (I had that tendency, too). Just go around the corner of the piazza and you will find this beautiful place. It has the option to eat both inside and outside and you can smoke relaxed on the terrace. Inside, you find the typical Italian decor, with a lot of wines and small tables. The personal is very, very nice, friendly, and they pay attention to your needs even if the restaurant is full.

In terms of food and wine, try to always request the special menu of the day or to look at the list outside with the special things “fuori di menu”. I recommend you to try that, because you won’t regret it. But anything you want from their menu will be full of taste and just special. For the dessert and pistachio lovers, I highly recommend to try crème brûlée al pistacchio!!! This is the main reason why I always want to go back there! If you have some hours in Rome or a night with no plans, plan to have a lunch or a dinner at Ditirambo and enjoy it to...

Terrible experience. Was looking forward to eating here based on other reviews, but we couldn’t have left less satisfied. After being seated it took at minimum 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order and from then on things got progressively worse. After we were finally able order our food and wine, we were brought the food with no wine. The server acted as if we never ordered anything additional to drink. Mind you, this was the 3rd person to come by our table that acted as if we were second class citizens. After finally receiving our drinks we began eating and things did not improve. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the carbonara, and both couldn’t have been more over cooked. We felt as if we had been served left over pasta someone ordered hours before. After forcing down half of our dishes (we hadn’t eaten for 10 hours) we asked for our check, which was responded to by a disgruntled look and a rude gesture. Once we received our bill we noticed we were charged for 2 orders of bread, which we assumed were complimentary since it was brought to our table without being ordered. To their credit they did remove the unordered bread, but not without an argument as to why we should have refused it… “if someone brings you something in Italy you don’t want, you send it back”.. followed by a further exchange of words as to how they couldn’t care less about our experience or their service. In short, there are plenty of better places to dine in Rome with far better pasta and FAR...

We stumbled upon Ditirambo on our first night in Rome, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! We went for a full Italian dinner experience and it was nothing short of outstanding. The menu offers a wide range of unique dishes with even more options on the daily menu and a wide selection of wines. Yet, what truly set Ditirambo apart was the exceptional service. Alex, the manager, not only ensured our every need was met promptly but also engaged us in genuine conversations, transforming our dining experience into a personal connection. His thoughtful surprises, from complimentary dishes to shots of limoncello, went beyond our expectations. Another special mention to the lady in the picture, who went above and beyond, surprising us with an extra dessert. The warmth and value they extended prompted an immediate reservation for our last day. Returning, we found the same personalized attention, stellar recommendations, and more unexpected treats. Beyond the outstanding food, Ditirambo gifted us with a friendship in Rome, turning our trip into an unforgettable journey. A heartfelt thank you for the extraordinary dining experience, genuine connections, and memories that will linger in our hearts. Highly recommend to anyone in Rome, and we can't wait to return! ❤️

I really can't understand why this place has such high ratings. I didn't enjoy the food at all. I had the octopus pasta, beef cheek, and house red wine. Both dishes looked very unappetizing and didn't taste much better. The pasta and the octopus themselves were fine and would have been pretty good on their own, but the sauce was a grayish-purple, salty mess that I could barely stomach. The beef was tender, but had little flavor. It was served on a bed of potatoes pureed into a thick, sticky paste. The wine was good, at least. The poor guys working there were doing the best they could, running back and forth without a moment to rest, but they were severely understaffed. Wait times for menus, drinks, food, and checks were outrageous. Such a disappointing waste of one of the few meals I got to have in Rome. If I had known better, I would have taken the short walk to Trastevere for some real Roman food. You won't find it in this touristy area.
