It was almost our lunch break and me and my bro were craving for some ramen on a Monday morning as it was super cold to work outdoors at Pantheon. I remembered that me and my mom went to one Japanese restaurant near my workplace which I couldn’t recall the name nor the exact location so I tried searching the word “ramen” on Apple Maps, then I tumbled upon this other restaurant which is SHIROYA and got intrigued by their highly rated reviews and found out it’s been mentioned by Michelin guide for many times but unfortunately they’re closed on Mondays so I promised my brother that we’re definitely going to eat there the next day and I’m so happy that we did!
I’m truly glad that I found this place which just satisfies my soul and my heart with their authentic, delicate yet very delicious food they offer. In just a week, we ate there 3 times which I don’t regret and I’ll be coming back for more!
For others, the price may seem too much but the quality and taste of food will make it worth every cents you’re paying them. I love everything we have ordered from appetisers to main dish to desserts, so there’s no specific recommendations. The only downside is that I couldn’t pair my orders with a Japanese alcoholic drinks which I know would be heavenly, as I still needed to go back to work😅. Once you’ve tasted whatever it is you’ve ordered it will leave you wanting for more! Keep up the...
Read moreTerrible service, when my partner and I arrived they asked if we had a reservation, we had called hours ahead to request information about the opening hours as it does not match what is posted online. The female who seemed to be in charge, told us that we could eat there BUT we would have only one hour to eat. The whole time we were there the restaurant never got half full and the only reason we stayed was because of cravings from my partner. When I asked for the check the waiter was very arrogant, when I told him if he could add 20 to the total as a tip, my total bill was only about 43.00 euros. The guy replied rudely by saying:”we don’t take the tip on the card only cash.” I didn’t have any more cash at the moment so I offered him tips in dollars (as I had done before at other restaurants in Rome which every one else gladly took them money). He replied very arrogantly by saying :”this is Europe your dollars not good here…” I was giving him 40 dollars as tips, I only replied by saying :”I guess not everyone likes money…” i understand the currency but after spending a whole day shopping and eating at different places cash can ran out very quickly, the service was not good at all, they seemed to be pressuring us to leave. By the time we left there was only one couple eating at...
Read moreWe were told that we needed reservations and that they were booked for the night by someone we saw in person, but then decided to try giving calling in a go immediately after, just on the off chance they’d have a slot for us tonight over the phone. They did. So that was a bit confusing. It took about 25 minutes to get our order taken. The food was great, but there were serious issues receiving it. They somehow missed the drinks, and even the food ordered for one of our party of four, leaving them with nothing while the food for the rest of us sat in front of us for 15 minutes before we spoke up and discovered they had failed to enter hers in. They then got it out within a few minutes. They also charge 5.50€ for just two slices of kastella, which if anybody knows is something you can buy an entire loaf of in a Japanese convenience store for about two bucks (though I can’t speak to its general availability in Italy). They did take the dessert and drinks off the bill without us asking as an apology, which is appreciated. Honestly, I think we just had some bad luck, but you can find food of a similar quality in other restaurants nearby...
