I had an incredible experience here and it deserves the highest praise possible. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease – the owner greeted me with genuine kindness and warmth, making me feel more like a guest in a family home than just another customer. That kind of hospitality is rare and really made a difference.
The food itself was absolutely outstanding. The portions were huge, generous, and great value for money. Every single dish tasted fresh, carefully prepared, and full of authentic flavour. You can really tell that the ingredients are chosen with care and that a lot of pride goes into the cooking. It’s not just food – it feels like a true expression of Italian culinary tradition served with heart and passion.
One of the highlights was the authenticity. The flavours were rich, balanced, and exactly what you hope to find when coming to Italy. Nothing felt generic or mass-produced; everything tasted homemade, traditional, and deeply satisfying. It was the kind of meal that leaves you both full and genuinely happy.
On top of that, the atmosphere was lovely. Relaxed, friendly, and unpretentious – the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy your meal, and feel at home. The owner’s happiness and friendliness were infectious, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
I’ve eaten at many places while travelling in Italy, but this one truly stood out as something special. It wasn’t just about the food, but the entire experience: the welcome, the service, the flavours, the portions, and the atmosphere. Everything came together perfectly and left a lasting impression.
If you’re in the area and looking for somewhere to eat, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Whether you want a hearty meal, authentic flavours, or just a genuinely kind and welcoming environment, you’ll find it all here. It’s a gem that deserves to be discovered and appreciated.
Easily one of the best places I’ve eaten at in Italy. I will absolutely return, and I encourage anyone reading this review to give it a try – you will not be...
Read moreMy experience at I Caruso was very enjoyable. There are quite a few flavours here, some of which I had never heard of, in particular one that tasted like nutella in gelato form that was amazing. There is a small bench outside where maybe 4 people can sit at a maximum which was nice as our party had walked quite a way in order to get to this gelato place. The gelato, although delicious, melted really really quickly due to the heat so we had to quickly eat it to avoid it melting absolutely everywhere. The service here was very friendly and the lady serving us spoke good English which made communication that much easier. Overall, one of my best gelato experiences in Rome which I would...
Read moreWe stayed in a hotel a street over and ran into it one day. There was a long line out on a sunny hot afternoon so we passed. The next evening we dropped by and the owner was this super friendly Italian man with a distinctive smile. He was patient with us doing Google Translate as the menu was only in Italian, and his English and our Italian were not up to snuff. Long story story, best gelato within 10 minute walking radius. There were two other excellent gelato places nearby, but his was the best value. Friendly owner serving his wonderful creation till midnight. It’s what makes a neighborhood ticks! Wish more of such gelato stands in...
