3 course with my partner, most of which was great. The pecorino pasta id skip and go for something more interesting, no different to pasta in a wheel, although it was perfectly cooked. Lowered the rating due to a couple of service hiccups throughout the evening. On top of this I also arrived in a short sleeve shirt as I did not click the dress code and was informed smart casual. No one stopped me at the door, I was taken to my table, ordered a drink, half way through just before the chefs welcome arrives a lady comes over with a dinner jacket asking me wear it, and proceeds to try and have me try it on for fit, in the middle of the dining floor. I ask her to go somewhere private at least and the jacket was way too big, out of anger/embarrassment / stubborn I decided to go to my hotel to put on my shirt. Given itās a top restaurant I would of assumed they would have some customer service skills, at least tell me in private or pull me aside? There were two young men also wearing short sleeve shirts which they didnāt say anything to, one of which had an anaphylactic shock as they were served shellfish! Lucky the mother had the epi pen. Anyway, it was the best Michelin star restaurant weāve had in Italy so far, and a shame with the service. Yes I take some blame for not seeing the Dress code but honestly have a little tact. Giuseppe thatās why I left no tip, sorry! 3 course menu was 140 euro per head, plus drinks, total 350 euro. Iād say on the expensive side for what you get, but maybe weāve spoilt in Australia, we get better degustations for that, had I not been treated badly we were going for the X Menu at 210/head but didnāt have time after I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe left La Terrazza both completely full and entirely impressed. Having had the opportunity to dine at Pinchiorri in Florence, Local in Venice, and La Pergola / Moma in Rome this week - we arrived at La Terrazza with a very high bar for what we would consider exceptional. The chef and staff far exceeded that bar. Cognizant of recency bias, we still left the meal convinced that La Terrazza was our most impressive dining experience this week - exceeding that of restaurants with both more distinction and a more established reputation.
Outside of the few small fixes that honestly amount to us nitpicking (typos on menu / bathroom inexplicably playing two verses of one song on continuous loop / inappropriate attention paid to decision on silverware served with each dish), we could not imagine a better experience. Note that none of these small fixes have anything to do with the food itself - which was truly a perfect blend of creativity and technique. If the true Michelin standard for three stars is that a restaurant is āworth a special journeyā - then it wonāt be long before La Terrazza gains its second and third star. This restaurant is absolutely worth a special journey, and we are excited to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLa Terrazza at Hotel Eden is the definition of a true fine dining experience. From the moment we sat down, the attention to detail and level of service were monumental.
The entire staffāfrom servers and waiters to managers and chefsāworked seamlessly together, always attentive without ever being intrusive. At no point did I feel neglected; even the smallest cues were noticed and responded to immediately. Every dish was beautifully presented and thoroughly explained, with all the ingredients and proper pairings carefully highlighted. And most importantlyāthe food itself was absolutely delicious, perfectly balancing flavor, creativity, and quality.
Coming from Canada, where service standards are already high, I can confidently say this restaurant exceeded even my expectations of what fine dining should be. The professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence here truly set the bar. On top of it all, the view is absolutely spectacular, adding to what was already a flawless evening.
Job very well done by the entire teamāLa Terrazza is worth every bit of praise...
