The reviews aren't helpful at all if you're actually into cocktails. Like, real cocktails, I'm not referring to the countless bars in this world making mojito and aperol spritz. If you’re looking for a cocktail a real one, this is NOT the place.
For the good part, the ambiance inside is pretty nice. The music is very relaxing and appeasing, mainly jazz or older type of music, which has become rare these days. It’s not very loud either so you can actually have a conversation.
Notice I didn’t say a “good” cocktail, but just the baseline you should expect - they have no idea what they’re doing. If you’re looking for overpriced, half-done, wrongly mixed sugary drinks, that’s your place.
I ordered a Negroni. For the neophytes, it’s a very simple cocktail: 3 ingredients, all equal parts. Pour this in a mixing glass with ice, stir, strain and serve. Pretty hard to miss unless using bad quality bottles.
The “bartender” was so absorbed by his phone that it took him a few minutes to start after my order. I was the only one in the bar with my wife. I saw him grab a sad Martini Rosso and a gin bottle, one on each hand and flip them up, pouring them both without dosing, as if we were in a teenager’s night club… Sad.
Any decent bartender should use a measuring cup/glass to make a cocktail. Before he even added the bitter, I knew it was going to be bad and it was. For 8€ in Rome, it’s outrageous to not even try. All...

It's two rooms on the main floor when you go in, and one bigger room in the basement. The front room is where I sat, there is a hodgepodge of different tables and chairs. Basically this is a great place to start your night, mixing with the locals. Some guy was doing some sort of political meet-up or something, and I got the vibe that the people here were as close to the bohemians of Rome as it gets. Really I have no idea though, but still the place was very fun. Loud-ish...
Read moreSoo lovely and cosy. Looks smallish at first but there's quite a large sitting area downstairs too, with sofas and armchairs, which we actually had to ourselves. There's a chilled music background and overall a hip feeling to the place. The menu and drinks are sophisticated or slightly unusual, but also quite pricey. Still, its a perfect place to go and have a chat, and although it is named as a "library cafe" I honestly wouldn't go there studying or even reading alone cause its more of a social atmosphere. But maybe in the early afternoon...
