Well what an awful experience my family and I have had here. What started off as a nice dinner for my parents and I turned into a holiday ending night. My mother went to go use the restroom and on her way back missed the small step down (that does not have any signage or tape to warn people) and broke her ankle badly. They did not rush over when they heard her fall, only offered ice and then walked away. The staff lacked compassion, had no first add kit and didn’t offer to call an ambulance until after I had gone to a pharmacy to get an ankle support wrap. The other patrons in the restaurant also told the staff there that they had seen two other people trip on that step in the time they had been at the restaurant and need to have either tape on that step or a sign to warn people. They also have a table and chair very close to that step as well which is also a huge safety hazard, and thankfully my mum didn’t hit herself on that. Now we have had to cut our trip short which has cost a lot of money as one could imagine and she is flying home to have surgery done. I used to love this restaurant and wanted to share it with my parents, now after this accident I will not be back again. Here’s hoping safety will be taken more seriously going forward at...

Was looking for a place that served senza glutine (gluten free) and found Mama Eat. They were highly recommended and close to where we were staying. After coming back 6 times in 3 days, I can say this is hands down some of the best gluten free food in Rome if not all of Italy.

The selections are all available as senza glutine and the staff speaks fluent English if Italian is not your language of choice. It is a smallish place and very popular so if you are in a group you may have to wait a bit for a table or better yet come at off hours. The restaurant is not too noisy and great for families. As a part of the AIC they are great for celiacs.

I can go on and on about how good their pizza is, but the lasagna and the aubergine(eggplant) Parmesan take the biscuit. The pasta is al dente as most real Italian pasta is and the ingredients are fresh and favourful. The final star in the rating is for price. All of this and more is yours for half the price of a meal in the US or UK.

If you like amazing food and great friendly service and don’t mind saving a few euros, come to Mama Eat...

Mama Eat Roma near Vatican City is outstanding! From the food to the staff, everything was exceptional. My husband ordered the breaded veal and there was plenty of it!

I ordered the gluten free pasta with pepper and peccorino cheese, and the flavor and texture was exceptional. As a Celiac, I'm used to watery, mushy pasta, but this resistant proves you can do gluten free right!

For dessert (mostly because I could, ha ha), I ordered the spughnizielli with Nutella, which is essentially a fried dough with Nutella on it. It was hot, fresh, and wonderfully chewy without being too sweet, so the Nutella was a perfect addition.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and sweet despite being pretty busy. The young gentleman who served us was very accommodating and understanding of the fact that I'd only learned basic Italian before coming, so he helped me fill in the gaps. Super sweet!

Overall, this place is a must eat for those of us with...
