Osteria da Fortunata - Rinascimento — Restaurant in Rome

We waited about 30 min for a table. The spaces between each table are incredibly small. We ordered oxe tale and pasta. Most of the waiters, don't speak English at all. I can't read well Italian... therefore, I've asked the waiter to explain me how the menu works. One oxe tail on it's own, only with sauce was 17eur. .but also with pasta was 18.eur. When we were outside, even before queing up, I saw some people eating oxe tail with pasta, and I realised that, they had 2 large pieces of oxe tail, from the thickest part of the tail, on top of the pasta. That's why I convinced my girlfriend to stay. We've just ordered onde main course of oxe tail with pasta for both, to share.

They brought us, a plate with pasta, and 2 small pieces of oxe tail, really small, nearly all bone..from the thinest part of the tail. Next table, was an Asian couple that were in front of us in the line, We all seated on the tables at the same time. They've asked for one course of oxe tail on it's own, and another course of pasta only. Suddenly.., I've just realised that her course of oxe tail was huge, with 3 big pieces all very thick, plus 2 or 3 smaller ones. I've called the waiter, and pointed the situation. He refused to accept, my point of view.. andI asked him to call the manager, but he just called another older waiter. This older one, pretended to be the manager, but he wasn't, and he just said, that the thickest parts of the oxe tail were finished, therefore he could only give us the smallest parts. Even though, he just gave us 2 very small ones, contrasting a lot, with what he did with the Asian couple, and the people I saw on the tables outside. We've just felt discriminated, and abused, mainly because they've served the Asian couple in a normal manner, and because we've just asked for one course for both, they've humiliated us, giving them a huge portion, which part of it should be for us. Nothing on the menu suited my taste. The Caio de Pepe was excessively salty and had a sharp, unpleasant flavor; I highly do not recommend it ; I highly do not recommend it, unless you are familiar with Pecorino cheese and enjoy it. Rome is such a nice and lively place and after having had a busy day visiting places we went to this restaurant to have a relaxing meal to finish our day pleasantly. This turned out to be a nightmare instead because of appalling service at this restaurant. Staff were extremely rude !! First we had to wait for over 30 minutes to get a table and finally we were given a table on the street where traffic and beggars were passing by. We requested if we could have a table inside the restaurant instead. Waiter said No! We are busy As we already had a tiring day we compromised by having our meal on the side of the street. Then over 35 minutes of waiting at the table no one came to take our order and I had to go inside the restaurant to remind that we were waiting !! Again no apologies was offered and said in a rude manner , “ we are busy , you can go somewhere else if you don’t want to wait” Our nightmare didn’t just stop here as after ordering our food took over another 40 minutes to arrive. Lastly when I went to pay our bill, I was shocked to see that we were charged seating fee of €2 per person !!! When I challenged with the manager that you made us sit on the side of the street rather than inside and why you are charging seating fees !! No apologies were offered at any point !! This is a chain of restaurant so not sure how the experience would be in another branches. As far as this particular one is concerned, I would suggest stay clear as they don’t have any courtesy towards paying customers.
