AVOID After finding a seat, we are approached by one of the waiters who handed us a menu and left.
Later he came back asked what we wanted to order, he then told us they are not serving anything on the second half of the menu. We places our order after a very quick rethink. He then come back to the table 5-10 minutes later to double check our drinks order and then put it into his tablet that he didn’t bring with him on the perilous visit to the table.
He then returned to the table again with the cutlery ect this was was thrown down on the table as he walked by.
20-25 minutes from arrival goes by and we eventually received our drinks.
45 minuets since arrival passes and he has delivered food to all the tables around us (who had arrived and ordered much later than us). At this point he shouts over 2 tables to us to say he will check what’s happing with our food (2x burger and chips nothing fancy or difficult).
We are now 55 minutes since arriving and he finally brings out our food, my partners bun was burnt to a crisp and the outside of her burger was burnt while the inside was raw only one small bite was taken from this before revealing the raw meat.
I started to eat mine, bun was fine not burnt and the the meat looked good until I stared to eat it. I put the burger down and pulled the patty apart it was totally raw and not cooked through.
I raised the problem with the man at the register, his response was that it’s a medium rare burger and then shouted for the waiter. The was no mention on the menu of rare it was also not mentioned by the waiter and no option of how well done was given. As you will see from the photos you could not pass that off as rare let alone a medium rare.
After stating that we are not happy with this and we cannot eat it he then started talkings to us angrily in Italian and pushed the card machine towards me for us to pay the bill (full price).
This is a shame as the place had great potential with good English music and drinks.
To sum up
Food poor and under cooked
Waiters rude and disinterested
Waiting times abysmal
Venue was ok and interestingly decorated with signed currency notes from people that have visited previously.

We looked for a bar to watch The F1 and found this bar on Google maps, we arrived 40 minutes before the start of the race and asked the bar staff if they were going to put on the race, if not we’d happily go to another bar. They confirmed that they’d put on the race on one of the screens at the end of the bar, we were led to a table there. There were many screens in the bar and they were all televising a Man United game.
We ordered food and drinks and sat down next to Ghanaian man, he seemed to be quite friendly and was watching the game on one screen, approx 20 minutes passed and the bar staff changed the channel to show The F1 race and asked the Ghanaian man to move a few seats away to continue watching the match on one of the many other screens, obviously he had a chip on his shoulder and decided to kick off at us saying that we were rude and how dare we force him to move, we hadn’t gone for an argument and tried explaining that it wasn’t anything to do with us but the managements decision.
The manager came over and gave some silly excuse about not being able to put on two channels at the same time when they were already televising 2 different channels! He then changed the channel back to the football to appease the African guy and said that they’d switch back to F1 after the game had finished, this would have meant that we’d miss the first 15 minutes of the start of the race.
I explained to the manager that this was a ridiculous suggestion as a lot happens at the start of a race! Anyway we walked out and found an alternative bar (The Fiddlers Elbow) that were very accommodating and friendly.
The problem was, in order to appease 1 aggressive African guy who had a chip on his shoulder they ended up losing a minimum of 2 couples!! They handled the situation completely incorrectly, if I hadn’t been their with my girlfriend then perhaps the fella would have been dealt with in the manner that he wanted to be. All of this was caused by the staff dithering and not reacting correctly to an aggressive guy causing...
Read moreWalking into the bar, you think 'yes, this looks like a typical Irish bar from back home', however that's where the similarities really seemed to end. There's virtually nothing on the menu that makes you think 'Irish Pub', although the food we had was delicious, the portion sizes were great, and all reasonably priced. A word to the wise - it's normal in Ireland to order a main dish and ask for it with chips. If you do the same here the chips will come as a starter, and of course, they don't have vinegar as you would know it in Ireland.
All of the staff we encountered weren't Irish and one or two of them struggled with our Irish accents, although they were all friendly and helpful. Every other Irish bar I've ever been in around the world, is staffed mainly by.....you guessed it....Irish people!!
There are a number of TV's showing live sports although I only seen international motorbike racing and Serie A football. For an Irish pub I was expecting to see the premiere league or GAA etc, and it may have been available but we just didn't see it.
There was live music starting as we were leaving and a there was a fair range of typical Irish alcohol like Guiness, Magners , Bushmills amongst others. The atmosphere wasn't great but to be fair it wasn't overly busy at around 7pm, and I expect it would liven up later on when the music & craic were in full swing.
No complaints whatsoever about the food or service, but it seems to be more Italian than Irish, once you look past the decor, but I'd...
