This was my second visit to 1000 Coffee & Bakery in Venice—and somehow, it was even better than the first. You know a place is doing something right when you find yourself walking past a dozen cafés just to come back here.
The coffee is proper—smooth, bold, and made right every time. You don’t need to overthink your order here; whatever you get, it just hits. And the pastries? Ridiculously good. Fresh, flaky, and dangerously addictive. I had one… and then immediately went back for another. No regrets.
The vibe is relaxed, the staff are super friendly without being over the top, and everything just feels easy. No tourist-trap energy—just great coffee, quality food, and people who know what they’re doing.
Safe to say this place has officially made it onto my “every time I’m in Venice” list. If you’re in the area and looking for a solid coffee and breakfast spot, don’t even think...
Read morei enjoyed the coffee, food was okay. prices are also reasonable considering it’s location. but what left me appalled was the service from one particular staff serving me. i joined in the queue to order and other customers joined in behind me as well, the lady at the counter completely ignored me and served the people who came after me until one very kind lady gestured to her that i came first. i spoke to the staff in english which obviously meant i didn’t speak italian, she was visibly annoyed at me when i couldn’t understand her and throughout the ordering process. the lady beside me also sensed it and gave me a look. i was the only asian in line which makes me feel that this was racially motivated as there was a stark difference in her attitude towards other customers and towards me. overall, we were expecting to enjoy our time here...

Ordered the two drinks and had larges forced on us; we didn't order them and I said that but because we are tourists and not fluent in Italian we had no recourse. So they forced the upscale of the large size. But worse than that was how awful the food and drinks were. It's not worth eating horrible stale pastries and drinking milk with a splash of coffee or chocolate in it in Italy.
We threw it all away and went somewhere decent so we could enjoy the food.
I can't believe people eat there. Maybe it's just English speakers who should stay away. With so many other places offering quality food, you are better off...
