We were looking for a nice Venetian meal and we were greeted by Albano who led us to the menu and quickly prepared us a table by the canal.

This restaurant is right on the water with a view of the Rialto bridge and the actions of the main canal in full view. Seating is offered both inside and out with heating provided for when the weather is cooler.

Service was excellent being attentive but not pushy like at the other restaurants with water views. This restaurant is one of the original in Venice and it shows with the service quality we were provided by Albano and the team.

We ordered the Appetisers in octopus salad and the baked scallops followed by mains in the risotto polli and funghi, Venetian pizza, sautéed/steamed mussels in broth and the classic Venetian spaghetti with cuttlefish in ink. (The mussel meal was a request by our daughter as a modification of the seafood on the menu).

The meals were delicious with not a fault. Seasoned to perfection and thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family.

Appetisers were amazing with the scallops cooked perfectly, seasoned well and presented beautifully. The octopus salad was fresh with ample pieces of tender and beautifully prepared octopus on a fresh salad, perfectly dressed and seasoned.

The cuttlefish was ample in amongst the generous helping of al dente spaghetti, the mussels were perfectly cooked with the broth being beautifully complimentary to them, the pizza was also delicious and cooked to perfection with the risotto also cooked expertly, seasoned well and with the flavour exceeding our expectations.

The price is fair given the location, quality of service, excellence in meal volume and taste. The whole experience should not be missed for singles, couples and families alike.

Thanks again to Albano and the team there for a wonderful culinary experience in our stay in Venice. Will definitely be back to experience more of the...

If the corner table by the water is open, grab it, the views are spectacular here! The menu entails many of the local favorites, but if you are a seafood lover and like a bit of presentation and performance, order the Branzino!

Brought to the table displayed on a large pan dressed with a medley of olives, carrots, zucchini, tomatoes and seasoned with stalks of rosemary, bayleaf, a generous squeeze of lemon baked to fork flake perfection in olive oil! The table side presentation does take a minute, but it’s well worth the slight cool of the dish once it is completed.

My Carbonara lovers, this one is creamy, yet light, al dente pasta, not overpowered by the hint of pancetta and who knew eggs could be so well prepared as to be hidden completely in the sauce. I didn’t see any peas, so don’t you go asking, they don’t belong here! Make sure you finish this one while it’s hot, trust me, that won’t be a problem.

Looking for something with a spicy kick, have the shrimp pasta with red sauce, no words will leave your lips except “this is good, really good”.

Open the meal with a nice salad, flavorful olives, creamy feta with a mild tang, tomatoes at their ripened glory, all on a bed of fresh greens! No, don’t ask for dressing, olive oil, balsamic and a dash of black pepper is all you need.

My usual Spritz because I believe in alcoholic consistency. For my beer drinkers, this one comes in a mug you can keep for the price of 10 euro!

Talk about service with a smile and good humor! These guys rolled out the white tablecloth and had fun doing it! They insisted on getting in all the pictures and encouraged us to eat any and everything on the menu we desired!

So if you are ever roaming the Rialto area and find yourself looking for somewhere to stop and eat lunch, drop by Bar Ristorante...

A couple of days ago (6/20/22) I went to this place with my wife. The restaurant it’s located in a really nice spot with a nice view. We experienced two different situations and that’s the reason I am writing this review. The waiter who attended us (I couldn't got his name) wasn’t nice with us. I ordered 1 plate of spaghetti with meatballs, but I had second thoughts and immediately asked him what other plates he would recommend me and his answer was: “I'm sorry. Your order was already placed without any explanation or suggestions. All of the sudden he was gone. This is a restaurant, not a fast food that you have to dispatch customers quickly and in a service industry is all about create good experiences. The waiter turned around and went to attend to the next table and never came back to our table. On the next table, some girls from Seattle, USA, also had a similar situation. All of the sudden three tables were talking about the waiter’s attitude, who definitely took off the shine of the place. The girls were going to leave the place and Mr. Albano appeared, noticed the situation, asked for ours recents experiences and took action immediately. He took care of the service in ours tables and the atmosphere changed for a better one. In the world of service, everything results in positive customer experiences, if the staff is friendly, accessible and kind! The experience could be positive and enjoyable one. I stand up from my table and personally congratulate Mr. Albano for his effort in achieving a positive experience between all of us. The food was excellent.

Five Stars for Mr. Albano...
