Seltz — Restaurant in Venice

Absolutely THE BEST ! Long story short : excellent food, service, location, welcoming and attentive owner Matteo ! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Beautiful place with excellent location steps away from train station, car pick up and drop off spot and most importantly right on the canal next to a bridge. Plenty of seating area outside next to canal rail decorated with flowers. In the evening each table has a stylish slim, dimmable LED light that makes it super comfortable and pleasant once the sun sets. Now the long story. We traveled the world pretty extensively and after our Mediterranean cruise stayed in Venice overnight at the Hotel Olimpia next door. Can't stand european touristy restaurants with "hustlers" luring you in and disrespecting you if you decline. This place is the opposite of that. As my wife and I stopped by the table to look over a menu, owner Matteo noticed us and even though he was very busy, he came out, welcomed us to take a seat ( we were tired from walking Venice all day ). He invited us to have a seat, relax and read over the menu. No pressure. He had a certain positive and genuine energy about him that is almost always absent from restaurant owners in big cities. “I just had the most incredible pizza in all of Italy..: no, in the entire world! right here in Venice! 🍕🇮🇹 The flavor was absolutely unforgettable, crispy on the outside, perfectly soft inside, and bursting with that rich, smoky, cheesy magic that only true Italian masters can create. I swear, every bite felt like pure happiness!

They didn’t just make a pizza; they created a masterpiece. You can feel the passion and love in every single slice. I’m already planning my next trip back to Venice just to taste it again!! yes, it was that good!

And let’s talk about the people.. Gregorio and Shad were unbelievably kind and welcoming. They made me feel like family from the moment I walked in. The service was lightning-fast, the atmosphere was cozy yet full of energy, and everything about the evening was simply perfect.

If you ever find yourself in Venice, stop searching.. this is the place. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. It was one of those magical nights you never forget & delicious food, warm people, and that special Venetian charm that makes your heart so full you can’t...

After being seated, the waiters kept walking past me, scrambling to keep up with their tables. I tried to be patient, but after 40 minutes had to stop one of them to order. They for some reason thought they had already taken my order despite still having the menu in front of me. They apologized, and unprompted, promised the food would be out quickly. It took 15 minutes for my drink to come out, and another 15 minutes before any food came out. The pizza I ordered was underdone and yet somehow cold. Tasted like it would have been good if finished properly, and served promptly. The pasta did not come out for another 25 minutes and was actually decent.

In summary, the service was terrible and affected all aspects of the meal. Would recommend finding somewhere else to enjoy...
