Caffè Ai Lamberti — Restaurant in Verona

Just don’t stop here. There are a lot of nice places in Verona but not this one. The waiters very actively beckon guests and seem polite and nice just until you sit down and order. The food is average, service is even worse. I’ve ordered caprese salad and carbonara pasta. The buffalo mozzarella cheese was delicious but there was only one leaf of basil, which is definitely not a decoration in this dish, so it isn’t really worth 12 euro. The pasta was to salty and for my taste overcooked, it was like eating a well done streak, I really prefer the Italian al dente style. Aperol spritz was surely watered-down, I kinda recognize that after trying this signature Italian cocktail in other places. Unfortunately the only non-smoking zone was inside where there is no air conditioner and the atmosphere is so so, hence I ate my food in a cloud of smoke. The place is also very overcrowded, feels like they are trying to place as much as possible guests and don’t mind the quality of service. Indeed the waiters carelessly threw dishes to my table like they were really hurrying and even forgot to put cutlery. But the really weird thing happened when I went to the toilet for a couple of minutes and when I returned I saw another people sitting at my table and my stuff just thrown away in different places including my suitcase😳 They demanded from me to pay though I really was thinking of ordering a desert or at least coffee. Not to mention the bottle of water I was still drinking that they just took away. So I definitely recommend to avoid this place...

Horrible service! Both the server and the guy behind the counter were rude. I was trying to order a cappuccino after the main course, but the server would not even acknowledge my presence. I dared to try to get her attention several times with a gentle wave, but she was irritable and could not be bothered. Then, when I went to pay, the guy behind the counter snatched my credit card off the counter without showing me the bill. Isn't it customary to either present the bill, or at least show the customer the amount? I thought so, so I immediately snatched the credit card back and said "wait, I want to see the bill." Once I reviewed the bill and saw the amount I tapped to pay. Then I said are we okay, to make sure the payment went through. He said no, we are not okay! He started yelling and went crazy and ended up swatting my boxed food off the counter at me. The box of food hit me in the chest and spilled to the floor. We got there and were seated by a friendly waiter and I ordered some of the Carbonara. The wait was longer but could of been because of the dinner rush. Food came at the perfect temperature… not too hot that it burns your mouth but just hot enough for it too make it enjoyable. Platting was great and my Carbonara was perfectly seasoned with pepper, mixed well in just the right amount of carbonara sauce, had a good amount of bacon, and was served with perfectly cooked fresh-tasting noodles.
