The table (red) wine was delicious, the donkey bigoli was also very tasty and I scoffed the lot. The horse tartare was rather more minced than I had expected (perhaps I was expecting something similar to beef tartare- more of a fine dice rather than a straight-up mince) and the mustard, capers, salt, pepper, and olive oil were placed in front of me and I could season it to taste. Probably. But it was my first horse tartare and I really didn't know how to season it myself. It was good quality meat and there was plenty of it, but finishing it was a slog. Perhaps I should have gone for the horse steak.

On hindsight, perhaps the horse dish was more a pesto or paste than a tartare, which was what it was called in the menu. Had I known it was a paste of horse meat, I don't think I would have ordered it. But for what it was, a pesto, it...

Well having lived in Italy 7 years, I can tell you honestly places to go and not to go…This one is definitely not to go one although it seems like high rated among others in Verona. Since Verona is very touristy place, do not trust stars or ratings too much cause most of them were given by tourists whom doesn’t have any idea of an authentic Italian food. That place is definitely and example. The pasta was really bad, the vitello tonnato was the modest at all I have had in Italy, the melanzane was like an uncooked eggplant, and the portions…they were completely much less than the other Veronese osterias…and above all the owner of the restaurant was standing right next to out table and insisting on us to order quickly because of the kitchen has to stop.Wtfff!! Do not go...

Do NOT trust the rating of this place. I am not sure how this place has the ratings it has or why it was recommended by our host but it was extremely disappointing.

Ordered the penne with meat sauce that was described as a bolognese and there was literally no sauce and no flavor. It was just dry ground meat (horse?), grease, and penne noodles. It was honestly the worst meal I have had in Italy (almost 20 days traveling here) and possibly one of the worst pasta dishes I have ever had, and that includes the vegetarian air plane pasta that gave me food poisoning.

If you want good pasta look basically anywhere else. This place is beyond bad and is reasonably...

The largest food portions I've had in any Italian restaurant, and served quickly and piping hot. Two course menus (starter & main) for a fixed €25 per person. Desserts available for an additional €6. Relatively extensive choices for both courses. My starter of penne in a creamy saffron sauce with zucchini and bacon was filling, cooked al dente, the Italian way. And for the true Veronese experience, braised horsemeat and polenta for my main. For anyone wavering on what horsemeat tastes like, you'd be hard-pressed to tell it apart from beef. Unfortunately our bellies were too full to partake in desserts. Would definitely recommend a visit!

This was truly a hidden gem. At first we thought that it may be a classic tourist place because of its name. However it was definitely not. It was the best food experience we had in Verona. They have traditional dishes of the area, that are made in a home cooked style, like they are made by a nonna. The service was excellent, attentive and polite. And all that, for a great price! They offer menus with 24 euros (August 2023) which include a first and a second dish, with great portions. Congratulations to the restaurant, both for the food as well as the prices! Highly recommend, do not miss this place if you are in Verona!!!

Siamo stati accolti in maniera accogliente e gentile.
