I've been thinking about this review for awhile because I'm a bit conflicted. The food was great. One of the most delicious meals I've ever had. Giving this two stars because of the very pushy almost skeevy sommelier.

My wife and I had dinner here on Jan 7 2023. We had an early reservation and met our waiter and sommelier. He gave us the wine menu and I asked for a few minutes to look at it and look a few bottles up on my phone. Instead of walking away, he stood over my shoulder and made comments on each bottle I was looking up pushing me for a more expensive one.

As I mentioned above and you can see from the pictures, the courses were great. Our waiter came out and told us they would start coming a little slower, which was odd but fine. We kept asking how many courses before dessert and both the waiter and sommelier refused to answer. Not knowing how much longer we had, we ordered a second bottle of wine with the intention of drinking it during dessert as well. The sommelier then kept bringing out cheese until we finished the second bottle before bringing out a dessert wine which we told him in the beginning we weren't interested in. He insisted and after a bottle of wine each we agreed to try it. It was a good wine and the three dessert courses came and were fantastic. After our last course, the sommelier brought another dessert wine (these were half the size of normal bottles) and started pouring for us. We asked how many courses we had left and he said "don't worry about it". There were no more courses and the final bottle of wine we didn't ask for and were certainly never told the price of cost over 300 euros. When I pointed this out to him he did agree to take a little off the bill.

Like I said, the food was fantastic. One of the best meals ever. Chef should be complimented. But when you go to a nice restaurant you expect the staff to take care of you. I can't recommend this place because instead of walking out thinking we had one of the best meals of our lives, we walked out feeling like we got hustled in a tourist trap. My wife said she hadn't felt pressured like that...

Artistically prepared fine cuisine -

I'm back again for another session of fine artistically prepared cuisine. The photos are in order of my descriptions.

Simone greets me like a long loss friend each time I visit here. I always feel like part of the family. A home away from home and I don't feel like I'm dinner alone.

Simone starts with a fine Prosesco followed by my favourite olive oil with freshly baked bread.

The complimentary petite potato flan with parmasen cheese foam and a drizzle of parsley olive oil is a great tease for your appetite.

Don't let the description of the antipasti menu put you off ordering this poached egg on brioche with truffle sauce and mushroom. It is absolutely amazing!

Primi course was pasta tortello creamy goat cheese with shrimp and vanilla butter. What an original flavour! Must try if you want something different from the norm.

A second antipasti of duck foie gras with shrimp and orange salted caramel was the perfect choice by Simone and also a perfect portion size before the finishing dishes arrives.

First of the sweets were panna cotta with a lemon jelly and sprinkle of sugar mint. This is another great teaser for the taste bud for more to come.

The main sweet is mascarpone cheesecake with caramelised figs and balsamic glaze. Wow! I say no more. A must try.

The finale is a beautiful medium sweet desert wine from a little quint neighbouring city Soave and some local Verona biscuits to soak up the sweet drop.

I have lost count of the number of times I dine here. It's something I look forward to the end of each day for an amazing dining experience.

My best regards to Simone and his team....

In short: Delicious food, great service and reasonable prices.

We came here with high expectations after reading previous reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. We were not disappointed. We tried three different starters, all of which were very good. However, the “poached egg on pan brioche with Parmesan cream” certainly stood out due to its unusual combination of flavours that were delicately balanced (it’s a must in our opinion). The two dishes of the first course that we had were also delicious, but not spectacular. For the main course, we tried the duck and the Iberian ribs. The duck was very tasteful, but we felt that it was a bit on the cool side when served. Especially the ribs were again of very high quality. Nothing bad to say about the dessert, either. The prices are above average compared to standard restaurants in Verona, but not exorbitant. Certainly appropriate for the quality. For a filling meal, you probably need three courses, which sets you back about 60 euros without wine.

The only negative thing we can mention is that we found the portion size of the main courses a bit too small. Somewhere between 30 to 50% larger would be more suitable for a main course, espcially since the taste is great.

The service matched the quality of the food. Waiters explained the ingredients in each dish, checked repeatedly whether everything was okay and were quick in removing empty plates.

We had a lovely evening whilst enjoying a wonderful meal. So overall, we highly recommend this restaurant. We just hope they can keep this high level of quality and let their prices...
