Osteria Due Mori — Restaurant in Verona

We dined here tonight. Fun atmosphere but best avoid I think.

The food was thoroughly average and not typical of the food we've had in Verona so far. We started off poorly with the water we'd ordered not being sparkling. A simple change from the staff would have been fine but they tried to prove it was sparkling, by shaking it violently in front of us. Just admit you got the bottle wrong. That would be fine. Bit of an odd start.

Then our food arrived. I had the meatballs which were sadly rather rubbery on the bottom as if they'd been sat out for quite some time. Maybe they were microwaved? All unknown. 4/10.

Pasta (Ragu) we also shared was better, but nothing to write home about. Maybe 6/10?

In general, would look somewhere else. Certainly doesn't seem to match the high Google score.

We had such an amazing experience at this restaurant! Our waiter, a very kind and charismatic young man with a full beard (which suited him perfectly) and seemingly of Turkish background, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave us the best wine recommendation ever. We originally wanted to order white wine, but he suggested a red to go with our pasta ragù—and it was spot on! The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the drinks were just perfect.

What really impressed us as well were the gluten-free options, which are so rare to find. They offer gluten-free pasta and even a gluten-free tiramisu, which our waiter recommended—and it was absolutely delicious. Everything together made for an unforgettable...
