This was an outstanding dinner, and my only regret is that I waited over a year to try it after receiving a recommendation. This small restaurant provides a fantastic dining experience, particularly if you opt for the counter seats where you can observe the kitchen staff preparing each dish up close. The chef and his sous-chefs are incredibly dedicated to creating the best possible meal for each table. The wait staff is attentive and ensured our family had a wonderful dining experience. Even though only a few staff members speak English, they were friendly and eager to make menu recommendations. We ended up ordering several excellent dishes: focaccia bread, a cheese plate, bruschetta, olives, steamed mussels in white wine sauce, rigatoni in carbonara sauce, truffle lombrichelli, chocolate gelato, and tiramisu.
Each dish was expertly seasoned and made us smile all night. Of the appetizers, the bruschetta stood out with its sharp tomato flavor adding a punch to the toasted bread, and the olives were meaty and flavorful. The cheese plate was good, with the Gorgonzola being the standout as it had notes of blue cheese and complemented the light flavor of the focaccia bread.
All of the main dishes were delicious, but the truffle lombrichelli was the star. The head chef presented the dish at our table, discussing the homemade noodles, showcasing the truffle, and shaving it onto the pasta with anticipation from the kitchen. It did not disappoint, and my eight-year-old was thrilled with the new flavor combination. At first, the dish might seem under-seasoned, but the truffle and sauce build with each bite, making it enjoyable to eat and discuss at the table.
The mussels were meaty and plump, and the sauce was delicious; I wish I had ordered more. It's a great dish to share or enjoy as a heavy appetizer.
The carbonara rigatoni received two thumbs up from our child, and by the end of the meal, the plate was clean!
For dessert, I highly recommend the tiramisu. It had a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, with delightful textures and flavors that met all of my expectations.
Overall, this is a lovely restaurant, and I plan to try some fresh fish on my next visit. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional Italian...
Read moreGluten free pasta!! Beautiful little Italian restaurant right on the American Village Main Street. Right from the start, we knew the understanding of coeliac celiac needs was impeccable. Gf spaghetti or penne was available to substitute into pasta dishes, as advised. Every meal at our table was delicious. Special mention to the mussels and the gf seafood spaghetti. We sat outside on the street, and, despite a sudden down pour of rain, we were very comfortable under the awning, with the mister fan keeping us cool. The restaurant is decorated beautifully, even the bathroom styling is delightful. Recommend for gluten free, and others, including...
