During my trip to Kyoto, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a locally loved sushi restaurant, and it was an incredible dining experience. As soon as I stepped inside, I knew I was in the right place - all the customers were happily enjoying their meal and chatting with the sushi chef. I was surprised when two customers struck up a conversation with me and told me that this was the best sushi restaurant in Kyoto. They recommended some dishes, and I took their advice and ordered the chef's selection of 10 nigiri, chef's selection of sashimi, and grilled fish. The taste of each dish was phenomenal, and I was already planning to revisit the restaurant the very next day. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it, but I'm already looking forward to next year's trip to Kyoto to revisit this gem of a restaurant. One thing that stood out about this restaurant was not only the quality of the food but also the price. It was surprisingly reasonable considering the level of expertise and care that went into each dish. It's a restaurant that I can keep revisiting without breaking the bank. Overall, I can see why it's a favorite among the locals, and I'll definitely be recommending it to anyone who's visiting Kyoto. Thank you for the...
Read moreNot sure where to start as my wife and I had the best meal of our lives at Miki. It was one of those meals you will speak about forever! Local spot that is very hard to get a seat as limited space and most people stay for +2hrs. Try get there early or wait late with some luck you will get in. Only 3 staff members who do an amazing job. Sushi chef runs the place and is very accommodating to English speakers. They all work so hard to have a great experience Fish was so fresh and chef puts extra care into presenting each piece. Strokes of lemon or extra sauces made each piece delicious in their own way Local beside us to get “chef special”. This was a dollar figure you want to spend and the chef creates his own sushi combinations to present to you one at a time. We have never experienced anything like this and will be dreaming of this meal and sushi for...
Read moreVery cute and small sushi joint. Not only did they have English menus, they were kind enough to work with us through the language barrier as foreigners to figure out what my fiance could eat. He has celiacs so sometimes eating in Japan is a huge challenge with how much wheat is in everything. The wait staff was so patient with us and were willing to accommodate, which is endlessly appreciated by both of us, as we don't want him to get sick. Instead of soy sauce they gave him salt and also asked me if I could have soy sauce. I don't have any food allergies but it made me feel taken care of. The food was aaaaamazing. Delicious sushi. Fresh tasting and so good. Beer was good and the local sake was awesome. So happy we stopped here. Got to have fresh water eel for...
