The moment it arrived, a hush fell over the bustling Kyoto street. Before me, enshrined on a simple wooden board, was the Burger 11 "Umami Bomb", radiating an almost ethereal glow. My hands trembled slightly as I reached for it, the anticipation building to a fever pitch. The first contact was a revelation. My teeth sank through the perfectly toasted brioche bun, a delicate cloud with just enough resilience to hold its own. Then, the patty – oh, the patty! A masterpiece seared to an exquisite char on the outside, yet yielding a cascade of rich, ruby juices within. Each bite released an explosion of beefy essence, a primal roar that echoed through my very soul! But it wasn't just the meat. No, this was a symphony of flavors, each instrument playing its part in perfect harmony. The secret sauce, a creamy, tangy elixir, danced on my palate, cutting through the richness of the beef with a bright, almost citrusy counterpoint. Crispy, sweet caramelized onions provided a delightful textural contrast and an extra layer of savory depth, while the fresh, crisp lettuce and ripe tomato offered a cool, refreshing reprieve, ensuring every mouthful was a balanced, multi-dimensional experience. Suddenly, a vision overwhelmed me! I was no longer in Burger 11, but adrift on a boundless ocean of pure flavor, waves of umami crashing over me, pulling me deeper into an abyss of culinary ecstasy! My mind reeled, my senses heightened beyond anything I’d ever known. This wasn't just a burger; it was an experience, a journey to the very pinnacle of gastronomic delight! When the last bite was gone, a profound sense of satisfaction, mingled with a touch of melancholy, settled over me. The aftertaste lingered, a warm, savory echo that promised to haunt my dreams until I could experience this culinary marvel again. Burger 11, you haven't just made a burger; you've...
Read moreTrip to Japan recently and just getting to the reviews. Of the Geisha district lies this French inspired burger shop. Customer service was great, 5 stars as most Japanese restaurants are! Presentation is also a 5, a gourmet burger with quality ingredients.
Main attraction, burger and fries, overall, I would give this a solid 3.5. The buns are fresh and very light, on the griddle with a nice little toast. The buger meat was a 3, as I feel it was a tad dry for my liking. The leafy lettuce was got soggy quick, so I removed it right away after my first bite. Fries were crispy, hint of salt, fast food quality, so just there as a side.
Overall, this place I’ll round up to a 4, but closer...

Since we’re in Japan, I didn’t have super high hopes- as Americans, we know good burgers and steaks!! That said, we were hungry for a taste of home so we gave it a try. So glad we did! My husband and I shared the steak and fries, our son got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. The food was ON POINT- even better than most burgers and steaks back home!! Service was excellent, restaurant is super cute and French themed. Would whole heartedly recommend! Delicious!!...
