Far cheaper restaurants in Kyoto provide a much much better experience. The food was honestly very mediocre for this level of restaurant, be it in Japan or anywhere else. I can't believe it has a Michelin star. I won't think of Michelin the same way again. The chef does not bring out the flavor of the ingredients, it is just like eating some matter. The dishes themselves are very ordinary and not creative or special at all. The whole place lacks any passion or character. Fish, pea soup and foiegras pioret on citrus are wonderful . Wagyu are smooth with good taste . Dessert includes fresh sweet melon and another dish with strawberry.
