Far cheaper restaurants in Kyoto provide a much much better experience. The food was honestly very mediocre for this level of restaurant, be it in Japan or anywhere else. I can't believe it has a Michelin star. I won't think of Michelin the same way again. The chef does not bring out the flavor of the ingredients, it is just like eating some matter. The dishes themselves are very ordinary and not creative or special at all. The whole place lacks any passion or character. 4.9/ 5 Excellent fine dinner in this restaurant in Kyoto . Beautiful layout and exellent fresh food for dinner especially scallop , crab as appetitzer. Fish, pea soup and foiegras pioret on citrus are wonderful . Wagyu are smooth with good taste . Dessert includes fresh sweet melon and another dish with strawberry. Last is chocolate and macha and cake . Everything is perfect. Tried this in 2017, 2018 and 2019 with high standard with reasonable price. Will plan next yr and visit again . Love this restaurant! It was my first time to try French restaurant. The waiter is very nice. Although his English is not very good, he used iPad to translate and told us about the materials. When we left, the chef stood outside the restaurant and said goodbye to us until he couldn't see us in the corner. The food was tasted great too!
