Late-Night Wagyu Gem in Kyoto We arrived in Kyoto late—around 9 PM—and after settling into our hotel, we were out and looking for dinner around 10:30 or 11 PM. Naturally, almost every place we tried was closed and turning us away.
Then we stumbled upon this absolute gem.
From the moment we walked in, the service was genuinely friendly and welcoming. What really sealed the deal was the food: they offered a selection of amazing, different wagyu beef cuts that were incredibly tasty and just melted in our mouths.
Finding such high-quality food and service so late at night was a lifesaver. This restaurant is a definite must-visit and a fantastic option for anyone needing a superb late-night...

The staff were extremely friendly and professional from start to finish, making us feel genuinely welcomed. As English speakers, communication was effortless and warm. The food was incredible, with every cut of meat perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The attention to detail was top-tier. The restaurant has a cozy, traditional Japanese vibe that adds so much to the experience.
We left very satisfied and impressed. Highly recommend Meat Soul to anyone looking for an authentic yakiniku experience in Japan!
Many thanks...
Read moreOur yakiniku meal, the second in Kyoto was served with the most wonderful array of Kobe beef in the various cuts. There were like 7 different types of cuts served. The meat was barbecued over an open charcoal fire. This traditional style gave the meat the most fragrant finish imaginable. An experience certainly memorable.
Service was excellent from the master of the house, Syu-Chan supported by the house chef, Taka-Chan. The house sake, Kyoto sake generously served with the meal.
This restaurant is recommended most highly to all...
