As someone who had only ever eaten American sushi, the experience I had at this restaurant was religious. The sushi was perfection: it was one of those meals that you can perfectly recall while lying in bed for many nights afterward.
If you’re hesitant as a first time kaitenzushi goer, it’s actually pretty simple. You walk in, tell the staff how many are in your party, and they’ll seat you along the conveyor belt bar (there aren’t any booth seats). You get a cup, which you can fill with green tea using the hot water faucet that’s built into the bar. While that’s steeping, all you’ve got to do is grab the plates of sushi from the conveyor belt in front of you. Prices are determined by the color/pattern of the plate: there should be a chart on the table. The plates are also preceded by a little divider that tells you (in English) the type of sushi, along with its ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally grabbing the raw horse meat nigiri (which I was not brave enough to try). You can also order directly from the menu on the table—they’ve got alcohol, soft drinks, desserts and more. Once you’re done, make sure your plates are neatly stacked, and flag down an attendant—they’ll total up the cost for your bill, and give it to you to take up to the front to pay: they do accept cards.
Please try this place, if you’re in the area. It’s not as fancy as some of the chain kaitenzushi restaurants, but it’s really high quality, and affordable. Lots of locals also seem to frequent it, so I’d say that’s another good sign. I will definitely be returning next time...
Read moreWonderful located place in the heart of Nara or is it Kyoto one of those too! :-) Either way this place is a conveyor belt sushi establishment with limited seating and I will say it does get very packed it’s very delicious and it has a wide range of fresh sashimi and sushi from shrimper to every variation of phish two every variation of shellfish that your heart desires this place is great if you’re on the run and you you don’t really have too many people with you as I said before it is limited seating and it is a bar only seating area so keep that in mind when eating here. The conveyor belt sushi method is great because you just grab whatever you want as you see the belt not coming your way the rice was phenomenal and not overcooked them perfectly fresh and the items I got were very delicious but although I will not to lie I have had better sushi than this place here in Japan. Which by the way please refer to my other review of the best sushi I’ve ever had in the entire world if you want that kind of experience. But once again I do recommend the sushi place if you are around the area and need a quick bite and are in a hurry. I recommend the Unagi as well as the seared scallops or the ottoro! Also which is great complementary hot tea which is directly connected to the table for easier convenience! Read moreNever in my life have I experienced such a shocking experience as I did as what I experienced at Mushashi Sushi. We were a group of 7 and we queued for 45 minutes to experience eating at Mushashi Sushi after reading some of the reviews. We got inside and sat down for 8:45pm and were told last orders would be at 9:15pm, which we said was fine. We ordered around 8:50pm and our food came out as and when each dish was ready, since I ordered 9 different sushi’s to try my final dish came out at around 9:15pm. Then without any prior warning at 9:30pm whilst we were halfway through our meal the staff of the restaurant came over to us and told us that they were closed and that we needed to leave immediately. They said they would pack our food for us to take away but we couldn’t stay in the restaurant any longer as they are now closed. I explained that nobody told us this would happen when we arrived or when we were ordering and that we wouldn’t have ordered or ate here had we known this, but they said sorry we have to leave. Never in my life have I been asked to leave mid meal at a restaurant and I would never expect a restaurant to treat paying customers this way. Absolutely disgraceful service and I would advise anyone arriving here late to avoid...
