おでん よかろ — Restaurant in Osaka

Such a different vibe to other restaurants! Super mellow and very very quiet, seats about 8. The husband and wife pair are also extremely quiet, and basically won't say a word until you make the first move, but will smile and let you know the names of the items if you ask, and they seem very sweet. When we were first seated, we weren't sure how it worked and there was a long moment where we just all smiled at each other without anything happening. The husband basically stood quietly and waited for us to start ordering, and promptly scooped items into a dish when we did.

No prices, but between the 3 of us we had almost everything in the big oden pot and it came to 4500 yen total so I think it's roughly 100-200 yen per item. The flavour is similar to 7-11, but the soup base is milder and less salty....

Me and my wife love this restaurant. The odens are healthily cook, the soup is just right on tast, not like Lawsons salty. The restaurant owner husband and wife is nice and friendly, we noticed the owner has hes family's picture on the wall and you can tell that this place is generation to generation, it has a very good family atmosphere, price is also very reasonable. We visit osaka every year and we will go to this restaurant...

Foreigners, worry not. Though the couple who takes care of this restaurant do not speak English, they're very friendly and are willing to accommodate through basic body language.

We ordered our oden and beef skewers by pointing at what we want, and scored ourselves an amazing authentic dinner at only 800yen each.

Will definitely try to come again, it's one of the most tummy-warming experiences we had...
