During our holiday from London to Osaka, my wife and I stumbled upon Sarutahiko Coffee — and it quickly became the highlight of our trip. Yes, the coffee and pastries were fantastic, but what truly made this place unforgettable was the warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care from the staff.

On our very first visit, I asked for a double espresso, not realising it wasn’t on the menu. Instead of simply saying it couldn’t be done, one of the managers personally stepped in. He explained to his colleagues, in detail, exactly how to prepare it — down to the grams of coffee needed — and even wrote the process down for us. That small act of going above and beyond turned a simple coffee order into a moment we’ll never forget.

There was also a lovely lady at the counter who welcomed us with a smile every time. She didn’t just take our orders — she brought our drinks to us, engaged in conversation, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. That genuine connection is rare, and it’s what drew us back morning and evening, every day we were in Osaka.

The coffee shop felt like visiting friends. Without question, we’ll be back the next time...
