This was a surprising experience for us definitely not what we expect from Coco Ichibanya. One of the female staff, who appeared to be non-Japanese (most likely of Vietnamese descent), was quite rude. My colleague asked if she could speak English, but she kept replying “Dozo” and ignored us completely. Even when I responded politely in Japanese, she didn’t engage. Small restaurant but big on choices! When I say small, I do really mean small - there is staying for only 6 persons inside! It's a typical Japanese bar sitting layout with the cook behind the other side.

Choices abound in the menu as you can have different combinations of your meat cutlet with different garnishings and choice of heat level for your curry. You can also choose the amount of rice as well so you don't get too much, and can save a bit of money there too. It's really good food at...

Even if you have dietary restrictions, I would recommend getting food at Family Mart instead of this restaurant. Even a vending machine would be better.

It's hard for my wife and I to find food when traveling in Japan because she's vegetarian and I'm gluten free, so we were looking forward to grabbing a quick dinner here.
