The store’s aesthetic is really inviting & we’ve pass through this coffee shop several times since our hotels were nearby (different travels to Japan) so we’ve decided to try it. We had high expectation since it’s always packed only to realize that it’s like that because customers were still not served yet due to their super slooooooooooooooow service.
We got in & ordered knowing the guests inside were already served, little did I know that they were STILL actually patiently waiting for their coffee & food that still hasn’t arrived yet. Trying not to be rude to the baristas, they just kept their calm.
I ordered 2 coffee & a toast which came out very, very late. I followed up my order AFTER 30 minutes only to be told that to wait for another 10 minutes. Seriously!? As they check the line-up, I was till 3rd on the list to be served given that wait time. OMG.
It felt like waiting for a ride in Universal Studios — the time we wasted here.
Maybe they saw how disappointed I was that they prepared the coffee asap & gave it to me in advance than those first 2 pending receipts on their counter. The “hot coffee” arrived COLD because the espresso has been sitting there for minutes as they prepare other orders before they frothed the milk. I know it because I’ve been waiting on the counter for several minutes & watching their prep.
Food was okay but not too special to waste time for. I was checking out the coffee beans they sell but only to see the roast date was still July. Uhm nope.
The toast came out after 15 minutes the coffee was served. It was just oven-toasted toast with cheese and arugula on the side, why would it take that long?
It is packed but I’m only talking about around 10 people inside.
We planned on sitting outside even if it’s 8° cold since we know we’ll get our order in a few minutes. It’s so chilly outside & we’re almost frozen waiting for the order so we decided to just dine inside.
30 to 45 minutes of waiting is not normal. Our time in Osaka was wasted on this cafe. We tried it because we plan on frequenting it since we always stay in the area but looks like we’re not coming back again on this cafe. Sad.
I love Japan and it’s kinda sad that I have to make a negative review on a restaurant (first time ever) since we were really, really disappointed...
Read moreWent to Katachi this morning after checking out of our hotel at 10am. Katachi was close by and had a sign showing an opening time of 10am. The girl who was opening the shop was late and had not taken the chairs off the table, and proceeded to set up at a leisurely pace until 10.15 with no explanation or apology. She then made us sit outside and wouldn’t take our order at the table. I ordered a latte and a tea straight away. We had to wait until 10.40 until the average-standard coffee and tea were ready, with no apology from the girl on duty despite me asking repeatedly if our drinks were ready. We were the only customers there at the time so we have no idea why it took 25 minutes to make or why the shop was open 15 minutes later than advertised. Also, the drinks were served in cardboard cups despite us not taking these away, presumably because the woman on duty couldn’t be bothered doing the washing up. I would advise the management that their employee either doesn’t care all about her work. Would also recommend that she should try speaking to customers and offering an apology for...
Read moreDo not come.hwre when it's full. The service is super slow, because there are only 2 people working. Can't blame them for it, but had to give it a low rating...
The food is horrible. I waited for 40 min for a guacamole salad toast, and it was literally a piece of toast with doritos on it and a bit of guacamole... looks healthy but is anything but. How is this a salad. The toast was also pretty wet, and not toasted...
2 stars just because inside it looks cool with a bunch of vintage items on sale and a cute...
