Review of Specialty Cow Restaurant Itamae Yakiniku Ichigyu Shinsaibashi Main Branch My dining experience at Specialty Cow Restaurant Itamae Yakiniku Ichigyu Shinsaibashi Main Branch was nothing short of exceptional, a true highlight for any Wagyu enthusiast visiting Osaka. Located just a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station, the restaurant’s chic Japanese interior, with its serene white palette and cozy seating options, set the stage for a memorable meal. The atmosphere was inviting, blending sophistication with comfort, and the staff’s warm, attentive service made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. We ordered the Ichigyu Assortment of 5 Kinds of Beef, Wagyu Tips, and the Lean Japanese Black Beef Nigiri, and each dish showcased the restaurant’s dedication to premium female A5-grade Wagyu. The Ichigyu Assortment was a standout, featuring five distinct cuts of beef, each expertly sliced and presented with care. The meats, sourced from top Wagyu regions like Kobe and Saga, were melt-in-your-mouth tender with a silky texture and rich umami flavor. The staff provided helpful guidance on grilling each cut to perfection over the table’s built-in grill, recommending pairings with their house-made fruit-based sauce, which added a delightful tangy-sweet note. The Wagyu Tips were equally impressive, offering a balance of lean and marbled meat that burst with flavor. These bite-sized pieces were juicy and succulent, highlighting the quality of the female Black Wagyu the restaurant prides itself on. However, the portions were on the smaller side, which is typical for high-end Yakiniku but left us wanting a bit more given the price. The Lean Japanese Black Beef Nigiri was a revelation. Delicate slices of raw Wagyu draped over perfectly pressed sushi rice delivered a luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth experience. The lean cut was surprisingly rich yet light, with a clean finish that made it a perfect interlude between the grilled dishes. While the food quality was impeccable, the meal came at a premium, and the small portion sizes might not fully satisfy those looking for a hearty feast. That said, the experience—watching skilled chefs slice Wagyu at the counter, the interactive grilling, and the elegant ambiance—made it worth the splurge. The English menu and multilingual staff also made ordering a breeze for international visitors like us. Overall, Itamae Yakiniku Ichigyu Shinsaibashi Main Branch delivers a top-tier Yakiniku experience that celebrates the artistry of female Wagyu. I’d highly recommend it for a special occasion or for anyone seeking to indulge in some of Japan’s finest beef. Just come prepared to savor every bite and perhaps supplement with a side dish or two if you’re...
Read moreI recently dined at Specialty Cow Restaurant Itamae Yakiniku Ichigyu Shinsaibashi Main Branch, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of our 10-day trip in Japan. We made it a point to try Wagyu beef every day, but this place stood out as the best.
The moment we walked in, we were impressed by the inviting and cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect meal. They even helped us take photos of our dishes, adding a personal touch to our dining experience.
Now, the food – it was simply superb. The Wagyu beef here is of exceptional quality, and each cut was tender, flavorful, and melted in our mouths. We tried a variety of dishes, all featuring Wagyu, and every single one was a delight. What impressed us most was that the dishes we received looked exactly like the pictures on the menu, which is not always the case in many restaurants.
The attention to detail in both the presentation and flavor of the food was impeccable. The combination of high-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and stellar service made this restaurant a must-visit. If you are a Wagyu enthusiast or simply want to experience the best Wagyu beef in Japan, I highly recommend Specialty Cow Restaurant Itamae Yakiniku Ichigyu. It’s an experience you...
Read moreI was expecting quality beef with exceptional service for the amount of money I spent. Unfortunately this place was a huge disappointment. I made reservations months in advance. The staff there didn’t speak English (which is fine but they made no effort to communicate with us) and only came to our table once to start the grill and grill the 1st few pieces of beef for us. We ordered 3 of the $11,000 beef set meal during the reservation. I wanted to change to a higher level at $20,000 and order additional food off the menu but I was told it cannot be changed. There were only two types of beef on our set that was good but I don’t know what they were as no one explained anything to us. The rest of the beef had a lot of tendon in it and was chewy. Our drinks were left empty and the staff did not attend to our table whatsoever. I saw one of the lady staff dripped oil from the grill plate onto someone’s slipper. She saw it and didn’t bother to wipe it up. The place was not busy. I wouldn’t recommend and would rather go to a less expensive restaurant with better...
