A must-do in Osaka! Superb and exceptional Kobe beef without making the trip there. Yui (or Joy) is a great chef and she took such great care of us from the moment we walked through the door, telling us about the different types of Kobe beef , straight from their cattle ranches, and what's the best way to enjoy them with the respective condiments for slightly different taste profile. Everything's prepared to perfection and I noticed that every diner left with a huge smile on their face and a finer appreciation for one of the world's most acclaimed steaks. Be warned: This is a life-changing steak experience!
Don't be fooled by the slightly touristy location - The pride and perfection in serving Kobe beef shows very clearly the moment we walked through the main doors and were greeted with a massive teppanyaki set-up. Best thing: Ventilation is awesome, so we didn't walk out smelling like a grill. Now that's Japanese perfection! :-)
Recommend: Splurge on the best cut - It's going to cost at least twice as much anywhere else in the world outside Japan. Do pay a bit more for the garlic rice. Yui used a bit of the beef trimmings to fry up the most luxurious fried rice! Consider: Order Mio Sparkling Sake with gold flakes! Not as expensive as champagne and tastes...
Read moreI came here just before closing, I had been traveling Japan by myself. This was one of the best restaurants I went to on my wonderful trip. The chef and host were both so nice, they both were very attentive and made sure I had an incredible experience. I ordered a steak with the sides. This was a lot of food, I think just a steak would be a good enough meal for one person as it also comes with some grilled vegetables. I also ordered a kobe nigiri, that was honestly my favorite part, the meat is so buttery and soft it makes perfect sushi. Every part of the meat is used, even stir frying the fat with bean sprouts. Overall it was a fabulous meal and a great price, around $130 USD. I also ordered a glass of red wine and the cheesecake dessert was sooo good and creamy. I wish I could return to this...
Read moreI walked by this place multiple times so I decided to go in for lunch one day to treat myself to Kobe beef.
The two chefs who waited on me were super hospitable and wholesome. The gave a short briefing about the choices and some recommendations and I went ahead to order.
After a while, they brought out the meat and some certification for the meat and encouraged me to take a photo. They even turned the plaques around and took a photo of me posing with the certificates. It was fun.
The show then began and the chef began cooking the beef on the teppan along with some vegetables. He also prompted me when there was a mini spectacle, that I should take a video.
Food was delicious, and the staff was awesome. I had a great meal and a great time and I would...
