An Unforgettable Teppanyaki Experience in Japan
During my recent trip to Japan, I had the privilege of dining at one of the best teppanyaki restaurants I’ve ever encountered. From the moment I stepped inside, the ambiance set the stage for an extraordinary culinary journey.
Chef Ishikawa is a true master of his craft, skillfully working on the hot iron griddle right before my eyes. The precision and artistry of their techniques were mesmerizing, elevating the entire dining experience. The sizzling sounds, tantalizing aromas, and lively atmosphere added to the excitement.
Every dish was a masterpiece. The Kobe Wagyu beef was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and literally melting in my mouth. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and crisp, seasoned just enough to let their natural flavors shine.
What stood out even more was the attention to detail. The chef tailored each course to my preferences and explained the ingredients and cooking process, making the experience interactive and engaging. The service was impeccable, with staff ensuring my glass was never empty and all my needs were met with a smile.
By the end of the meal, I was completely satisfied yet wishing I could relive it all over again. This teppanyaki experience wasn’t just a meal; it was a performance and celebration of Japanese cuisine.
If you’re in Japan, I highly recommend seeking out a top-tier teppanyaki restaurant. It’s an experience that combines incredible food with cultural artistry—something I’ll remember...
Read moreMy first encounter with authentic Kobe Beef at WANOMIYA Kuromon Sennichimae was not merely a meal; it was a revelation, flawlessly orchestrated by Chef Ishikawa. We opted for the Gold premium grade, and its superior quality was immediately evident. The marbling, a breathtaking tapestry of white against deep red, spoke of a true top-tier cut—a promise of luxury delivered before the first bite. I have had the privilege of tasting elite cuts from around the globe, but this was a distinctly more special experience. Chef Ishikawa didn't just cook the beef; he perfected it, delivering each piece immediately from the searing-hot iron griddle to my plate. The resulting flavor was an intense rush of buttery richness that melted on the tongue, followed by a deeply satisfying umami finish. Beyond the star of the show, the Garlic Fried Rice was, without exaggeration, the finest I have ever encountered—aromatic, crisp, and deeply savory. A critical recommendation: be sure to elevate your experience by mixing the provided beef miso with a subtle touch of wasabi and a few pieces of their house-pickled garlic. This unexpected combination creates a layered, unforgettable burst of flavor that perfectly complements the beef. From the technical mastery of Chef Ishikawa to the sublime quality of the ingredients, the entire dining experience was superb. This introduction to true Kobe Beef has set an impossibly high standard, and I can confidently say this first time certainly...
Read moreThe premium and standard Kobe I had was 4/5 (I had some pieces that weren’t as good as a regular steak in the US) but this was my first time having Kobe beef. We did have some issues though. We were the only group when we arrived and the staff pressured us to order the most expensive items. Only after uncomfortably hesitating for a while, did the chef tell us to flip the page and look at the standard Kobe options which were half the price. Not sure if the lower price led to us getting served by a very inexperienced chef (different from the one who took our order) who not only served meat that was noticeably red to our family member who asked for well done and served the most meat to the one who asked for half the meat but also seemed very new at cooking—having to use his hand to pick something up after failing to do so with the spatulas. Another staff spilt an entire bowl of soup on the table, TBH not sure if they would’ve done anything different if it was split on a person. Overall for the price, the meat was just ok but I definitely won’t be back and recommend somewhere where you’ll get better experience.
Lastly I got charged a 5% service fee (not sure if its only for group of 4) and they do cook some vegetables in a plastic bag—but claim it’s ok since they use some kind of food grade material though I’m never ok with heating plastic directly...
