Hasegawa offers a phenomenal dining experience that will definitely make your night. Our chef and staff welcomed us and took care of us the whole night. Well worth your time and we will definitely stop by next time to try their seasonal kaiseki!
Food: We ordered a Sushi Omakase (13-15 piece sushi) each and sakes to pair. Sushi was clean and buttery, and it was prepared with extreme care and professionalism. Total cost was 36,820Yen/Person.
Service: Our chef was friendly, professional, and took the time to explain to us the dish and suggestion on how to enjoy it in limited English. The staff were nearby, attentive, and took care of us the entire time. What surprised us towards the end was, our chef walked out with us and thank us for our patronage, which is a rare occurrence for us.
Atmosphere: We sat in the counter seating in front of our chef (private rooms are also available). The table was spacious and wide enough to offer an intimate experience with the chef, but also allowed you to sit back and engage with your friend.
A few things to know: Access is through an elevator going up to 4th floor. Reservation is recommended. Credit card is accepted at the time of this review. There is an English menu. Staff’s...
Read moreWhen I sat down the sushi chef immediately recommended me to order the Kaiseki & sushi set, despite I have said I would like to order directly from the counter, anyways I thought I’d give it a try and ordered the most expensive course since it’s recommended and when it comes to a sushi place in japan it shouldn’t fail. I immediately regret my decision when the appetisers turns out to be mediocre, but its not until the sushi came out that made this a 2 star, all sushi came out on one dish, instead of having the chef handed to you one by one, this should never be a part of the most expensive course from a self proclaimed decent Japanese restaurant, let alone being a restaurant in Japan, the quality of the sushi ordered over the counter also seemed better. The entire experience felt like a...
Read moreThis was of our favorite meals in Osaka. There were several courses ranging from JPY 5,000 to JPY 13,000. We had courses with appetizer, soup, seasonal vegetables, Omaru lobster, scallops, sea bream, Kuroge Wagyu beef steak, Hida beef sukiyaki, steamed chestnut pork, garlic rice, ochazuke with Nara pickles and Yomogi namafu and ice cream with warabi mochi. The salt is from Ishikawa and wasabi is from Nagano. Everything was expertly prepared by Takasaka-san who took good care of us the whole time.
The place is a couple of blocks north of Dotonbori. Bar Hasegawa and the teppanyaki place are in the building next to Sushi Hasegawa. No English menu but the staff will gladly assist you and ask for any food preferences / allergies. The food and service...
