food was good but that was the only good thing... hence the 2 stars
we queued for abt an hour & 10min. came at 7.50pm, got in at 9pm. waited outside in the wintry cold ((came in Feb but only posting my review now)) but ok, fine, was alright with that except the queue system was a mess. each grp were given a ticket with a randomized number on it not in ascending order. my grp had 3 ppl inclusive of me, & yet grps 2, 3! and 4! AFTER us in the queue got to go in first to eat? idk what was up with that but we didn't question it
after finally being given a seat at 9pm & settled down at our table, the staff told us at 10pm onwards, whatever we ordered, our bill will get charged an extra 15% for late night dinner surcharge. I was like ???? bro I came to your restaurant at 7.50pm.. it's not my fault your restaurant allowed us in at 9pm.. now we have to rush and eat within an hour before 10pm to avoid that 15% surcharge?!!
water is not free! booooo 👎🏼 I rly dislike restaurants or cafes out there esp first world countries that charge water. is it not a basic human right LOL I can just head to the toilet to get tap water for free anyways. why charge for water :(
we have to each (it's a MUST) pay for a side dish which is.. cabbage... & every other yakiniku place i've visited in my own country & in japan, no other restaurant have charged me or my friends cabbage :( I don't wna sound entitled & I know nothing in the world is free but it's just not .. nice .... when we've visited countless yakiniku establishments & been given FREE cabbage only to come here & be charged for cabbage lol.
conclusion: don't come here just cos it's a popular tourist spot, yes the food is good but you can go other places for good food too without queueing an hour 10min & be told to rush to eat within an hour because u have to avoid the 15% surcharge fee. i mean unless you're rich & don't mind that 15% extra bill then by all means ¯(ツ)/¯ btw, the meal for 3 ppl in the end totaled up to about 33,700¥. that's...

If you’re in Osaka and craving premium wagyu, 黒毛和牛烤肉 道頓堀みつる 心斎橋店 is an absolute must-visit!
Location: Conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station, making it easy to find after a day of shopping or sightseeing.
Reservations Recommended: Be prepared for long lines—this place is popular for a reason! We celebrated Mother’s Day here with a family of 5 (4 adults + 1 baby), and while the wait was worth it, booking ahead would save time.
Food Quality 10/10: The melt-in-your-mouth wagyu is phenomenal! We tried both the top-grade beef combo (¥20,000) and mid-grade cuts (¥3,000–7,000). Every bite was a revelation—rich, buttery, and perfectly marbled. The * lettuce salad* paired with their house-made sauce was a refreshing, flavorful touch.
Easy Ordering: Their multilingual tablet system (Japanese, Chinese, English) made selecting dishes stress-free, even for non-locals.
Atmosphere: Lively yet cozy, with the buzz of a classic Japanese yakiniju spot. The energy adds to the fun!
Family Notes: While not stroller-friendly (typical of many Japanese restaurants), the staff was accommodating with our baby.
Price: Our meal totaled ¥45,000 for 4 adults—definitely a splurge, but the quality justifies the cost.
Final Verdict: The line outside says it all—this place is legendary. Whether for a special occasion or a meat-loving feast, みつる delivers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended! 🥩✨
Tip: Book ahead, come hungry, and savor every bite of that...
Read moreI had high expectations for Yakiniku Dotombori-Mitsuru Shinsaibashi, but honestly, it was a letdown. The meat is expensive, which I was okay with if the experience was great, but it wasn’t.
First, they make you order a side dish (330 yen per person) even if you don’t want it. It’s just cabbage! Sure, it’s free flow, but other yakiniku places give this for free, so it feels like a sneaky way to charge more.
Also, they don’t even give you water. Not a single drop. It’s pretty clear they want you to order drinks, which just adds to the bill.
The queue system was a mess too. My number was called, but somehow people behind me got seated first. I have no idea why I even bothered waiting.
Oh, and after 10 PM, they slap on a 15% surcharge. With all the rules and extra costs, it feels like they’re nickel-and-diming you at every turn.
For the price, I expected way better. There are plenty of other yakiniku spots in the area that don’t make you jump through hoops just to eat. Won’t...
