My wife received a recommendation for Tiger Gyoza Kaikan Asakusa Bekkan, courtesy of an Instagram suggestion, and let me tell you, the suggestion was absolutely spot-on.

The gyoza arrived freshly prepared, their golden-brown exteriors hinting at the deliciousness within. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavour, the perfect balance of savoury fillings encased in a perfectly crisp and chewy wrapper.

The deep-fried pork on Dan Dan noodles was simply a culinary delight. The noodles had a perfect texture, harmoniously complementing the crispy, succulent pork that was fried to perfection. The dish was imbued with a rich, aromatic spice that packed a punch, likely too intense for someone unaccustomed to the heat of the chilli.

The chef, whose name regrettably slips my mind, played an instrumental role in making this dining experience memorable. His friendly demeanour and attentive nature added a personal touch to the meal.

Demonstrating a genuine concern for his guests, the chef went above and beyond when he learned of my wife's food allergies. He took the initiative to use Google Translate, engaging in a back-and-forth exchange to ensure she understood which dishes she could safely enjoy. This attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly set the restaurant apart.

The combination of delicious food and outstanding service made this dining experience unforgettable. It was a perfect example of how hospitality and culinary expertise come together to create moments that linger in one's memory long after the...

The service was poor. We sat waiting for our order to be taken for a long time, to the point where we said we'd give it 5 mins more before leaving. The waitress seemed very bored and uninterested in the upstairs guests. We had glasses on the table but never received water until we were about to leave. When we wanted to pay we were told to go downstairs by the waitress but she was meant to give us our receipt and never did, so the guy downstairs had to go upstairs to retrieve it. The service was sloppy. The food was average, it would be helpful to know the quantity that you will receive, as if we'd known that, we would have shared our portions. The gyoza didn't blow our minds and while the food was fine, due to the service, we...

I ordered the deep-fried pork chops with dan dan noodles. It was really, really good! It has a slice level of 4, and it is indeed really spicy. It made me sweat a lot and I had to drink lots of water.

The fried pork chops is one of the best Chinese-style pork chops I've had in Japan! Despite it sitting in the spicy soup broth, it still had a nice, crispy exterior. The meat was really juicy, with a good ratio of fat and lean meat. There was also a lot of it! Probably more meat than noodles!

The noodles had some good toppings, from peanuts to ground meat, sesame seeds, and veggies. It all melded really nicely together.

The shop has at least two floors for seating. The staff was really nice and attended to the customers in a...

This place surprised me pleasantly with their pork chop dan dan noodle. The pork chop is fried chinese style and it's a reasonably thick slice. The broth was a bit salty to me, but all the various spices used felt very authentic and was absolutely delicious. I suspect the sichuan peppercorn was roasted first before being added to the soup, as the aroma was an absolute killer. The noodle portion was very average, but it's chewy chinese style noodle. Overall, i highly recommend this place as it's very affordable, and the broth, aroma, and porkchop you get from the dan dan noodle is well worth the price. The server definitely seems a bit less enthusiastic than other restaurant, but i had no issue with the staff.
