A real hidden gem. 6/5. Arrived in Tokyo for the first time ever. Needed to get my Ramen on and overwhelmed with the choice. I looked on google and found this joint. Reviews looked amazing. Most places I had seen were chains and all very touristy. This place just looks like a locals place. If you walked past this place and weren’t looking for it you would possible miss it. The owner invited us in and showed us how to order. All the options were in Japanese. Top line is non spicy. Second line is spicy. There is a menu above the ticket machine.Use the price guide to know which one to get. Menu was chill with a few options based off the same broth. The owner then showed us what went in to the broth and the size of the pans he used to make the stock. Two days worth of cooking to achieve the richness and deep level of flavours. Flavours were on point. Noodles were amazing. It was just so rich porky. The pork was melt in your mouth and the egg just added to the silkiness. They had condiments on the bar to add spice to the ramen. I will be going there again before I leave Asakusa.

We enjoy ramen a lot, and its always a comfort meal. So when we stumbled upon this place and see the great reviews we wanted to try it! Always a struggling tourist with no Japanese, the two gentlemen who ran the joint was super helpful! But with jet lag, it was embarrassing for me to move so slow with the ordering machine. Not only that, we had to figure out if our daughter would eat ramen! (She’s a picky one). So we got the thr plain non spicy ramen, which was just ramen, broth, cha-su, bamboo and scallions. My husband and I both went for the ‘everything’ bowl , non spicy. A4 order number. In the end we figured it out… and note, the ordering machine only takes 1000 yen bills, but the owners? Were readily available to make change! You sit on stools around the kichen, and its fun because you get to see them make the ramen right in front of you. I cant say the stools were super comfortable, but it’s not a place to chill and hang. It’s more like an order, eat an go type joint. When the soup arrived it smelled sooo good! And the food was absolutely delicious!

Fuji Ramen was a spiritual experience for the gastronomically inclined. A pilgrimage to this small but humble shrine to the Ramen gods is a must on your way to rich, brothy, ramen nirvana. The ramen I ordered was a 880 ramen bowl as a humble pilgrim my stomach could not take more. I went in at 12+ and the ramen temple was already almost filled with other pilgrims. The friendly head Ramen priest came to tell us how to communicate with the sacred machine which would dispense our blessing of a sacred ramen bowl. We were delighted and quickly chose our blessings in exchange for mortal currency. When the ramen came, I reached out for the black pepper but thought against it for a moment, as it might have been blasphemy. I took a sip of the broth, and it was good, and perfect in every way. My tastebuds cried for I knew I would never taste better ramen in my homeland. I supped at the table of the Ramen gods and am greatly blessed.

An ok turned negative experience. Ramen was just ok. Thicker/ chewy style noodles. Have had better, for cheaper, in Japan previously. Didn’t appreciate the owner’s (?) low key judgement when we asked for our extra noodles (we got 2 bowls with 2 extra noodles). He said he already put it in the bowl. This was not a big deal, we were just surprised as it’s been a while since we used the ticket system. But then he had the arrogance to say “I don’t know why you only ordered 2 when you’re 4, you should order at least 3. I don’t think it’s expensive!” Scolding us, in front of the other customers. Like what the?! How rude! Our 4 included 2 little kids who don’t like ramen. Do you really think we’re trying to save Y1400, or maybe we just know our kids better than you? As we left he didn’t even make eye contact, unlike the way he said thank you & goodbye to previous couples/groups that left. Don’t know what was up with that guy but this was an unnecessarily...
