3.5 stars I haven't had much Indonesian food in my life but all the other customers here were Indonesian, so I'm assuming it's very authentic. The test was rich and the service was really nice. The homemade sate sauce was delicious and spicy. It's better to go at lunch time because I think you get a drink and something else that goes with it as a lunch set. The volume was a bit underwhelming so if you're hungry you should order a bit more. Redang beef set is I think what I ordered. The beef could have been a little bit softer but okay. I really like the setting of the restaurant because it felt like I was not in Japan 😁👍. If you go around 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. there are hardly any people. There was some light background music and it was a pleasant stay. I want to go again to try some other dishes. Maybe my review score for the restaurant will go up.

As an Indonesian, if you want to try really authentic indonesian foods, this is the best place for you. There a lot of indonesian traditional dish such as sop buntut (indonesian meat sour meat soup), nasi padang (unique rice dish with various toppings from Minangkabau region), all kinds of fish, chicken and duck foods from grills, crispy and fried. You must try the tempeh menu ( tempeh : indonesian soy bean based product) it is really tasty. The position is a bit hard to find. But you can look up on the location at 4th flour. There is a small name sign. You can go by stairs or by lift (accessible for wheelchair people). The place is a bit small, so I suggest for you to reserve if you want to eat in group. For muslims, there is no place for salah, so please be mindful about your time of visit.

Visited in March 2023 One of exceedingly rare Indonesian restaurants in Japan and it doesn't disappoint. It tastes and feel exactly just like at home, partly due to lack of immediate competitors which make it a popular get-together place for all those Indonesian students and expats in Tokyo or Kanto area. Of course there are a few Japanese among the costumers from time to time. The restaurant has very cute mascot characters, wish they could capitalize on them by selling their merchandizes (like key chain, T-shirt, and whatnot). And oh, it would be better for it to open branches not only in downtown, but also near major university campuses (such as Todai's Hongo campus or Tokyo Tech's Ookayama campus) that have relatively large Indonesian student and staff population.

VERRY RUDE STAFF.

I have been to this restaurant dozens of times. I liked their food, it’s authentic. I was also aware that, according to my previous experiences here, their customer service was not the best, but today it was THE WORST.

Today, me and my friends ordered the same food that we usually had there. Usually it takes around 15 mins to get the food, but today we waited for 30 mins and the food had not arrived. I suspected that the staff might have forgotten our orders so I asked the staff. I’m sure they DID forget our food because the table besides us got the same food even though they ordered it after us. Then we asked one of the staffs if our food would be ready soon, and we finally got it after 50 mins of waiting.

So we had one more food that we had not received. It was a fried egg. A simple fried egg. So again, we believed that they forgot it and we asked one of the staff about it. And wow, the staff responded in a very rude way. He even gave us a 3 minutes lecture of “why it takes more time to prepare the food when a restaurant is crowded”. We literally just asked for an egg. And we just wanted to make sure they didn’t forget it. Because we waited for 40 mins. For a fried egg. The staff came back in TWO MINUTES with a fried egg. He gave it to us again in a very rude way. He was super mad.

After reading the 1-star reviews, I think other people have had similar experience with this specific staff. He is the western looking one. Very rude. Unnecessarily rude. The other staffs were nice but this one…wow.

I hope the management would do something about this. For now I will choose Cabe in Meguro over this restaurant.

For everyone who still wants to visit cinta jawa, go to the one in Yokohama. Or in the worst case scenario, if u still wanna come to this place, avoid interacting with...

One star for customer service- I really love this restaurant. I always eat here if I want Indonesian food. It is the best in Tokyo.

The only big dissappointment is the customer service.

When I entered the restaurant, the staff kept talking with me in Indonesian language. I don’t really mind because I look like a South East Asian too, but it happened 5 times. I couldn’t understand a thing, until I lost my patience.

I really wish the staff will at least speak in Japanese/English FIRST rather than assume everyone entering their restaurant is Indonesian. I get the hospitality, but if you were asked 5 times by 5 different staff, it gets really annoying and I wanted to leave the place.

Another thing is one of their staff/waiter is a bit odd. I observed the way he interacted with the guests, he seemed nice, but very uncomfortable. When he waited us, we asked for a drink but he didn’t let us order it because it is not a good choice and told us it is not in a good quality. That was very strange to refuse the customer an order.

I also witnessed him being scolded by another waiter/staff, for any reason maybe, but I saw his reaction being not serious. That was when I entered the restaurant.

I want to give this review so the owner will be aware that something like this is happening. I love this place, I highly recommend it to everyone because the food is 100% delicious. I hope there is a big change with...
