I paid a little over ¥2000 for everything you see here. The food was really good, the service was excellent, and the bacon was like good old Canadian bacon that I’m used to. Especially later the bacon was a little bit crispy which is rare here in Japan.
I would’ve given it five stars if the salad was bigger, better (it lacked dressing but at-least the lettuce was fresh) and included croutons. A Caesar salad without croutons and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top in my opinion is not a Caesar salad. The fries that came with my set was a small portion and I was expecting more. The juice, was delicious, but a little bit over priced for the portion of serving that was served. When I went there, it was Around 32° outside and they were struggling to keep the place cool. I suppose if you in Fall, Winter or Spring This will be a non-issue. In my opinion, the food was delicious but the portions are too small for ¥2000. If I would’ve added any toppings onto my sandwich to make it larger than it would’ve probably cost me about ¥3000. Therefore, they should compensate and make the side orders bigger and better if the sandwich isn’t large. If you’re visiting Japan and you’re expecting a Large portion breakfast then you might want to skip this place. But if you’re looking for quality food and am not concerned about the size of a portion, then you’ll definitely enjoy Eggslut.
I may go back in the cooler months to enjoy the huge patio that they have. The back drop is really nice and conveniently located in the shopping district of Shinjuku.
Next stop, ABC Shoes!...
Read moreUnderwhelmed and unimpressed. I wanted to try this restaurant for a long time, but unfortunately it struck me as disorganized and sticky.
It was very hot when we stopped in for lunch, and the AC was not effective, leaving the restaurant/bakery very warm and humid inside. The seating was very remniscent of burger joints in the US… unfortunately that meant a bit cramped and uncomfortable. It reminded me of going to restaurants as a teen- always trying to squeeze in. Though we did manage to get seats.
The drinks were overpriced (¥400 for an iced tea??) and the food, while better priced, was either hastily created or an error was made. Although the restaurant wasn’t that busy (no line), everyone working seemed to be rushing. Online orders perhaps? Either way, the person taking my order also got me my iced tea, but never swapped gloves. And they were handling food as well… not great food safety unfortunately.
The egg salad was okay, but the salad I ordered it with had a vinaigrette that was overly salty and astringent. It was as if they had mistook sugar for salt in the recipe.
The burger and tater tots my friend ordered were fine but greasy.
While it could’ve been a fluke, I wouldn’t eat here again. For the price, notoriety, and location (right outside of Shinjuku station!), the service and food quality were too poor to be acceptable....
Read moreOriginating in Los Angeles, this restaurant has made a name for itself by turning a simple ingredient into a gourmet sensation. The menu at Eggslut revolves around its "specialty egg sandwiches," which are more akin to burgers served on a warm, buttery brioche bun. The eggs are the real stars here, prepared with care and skill.
The restaurant's atmosphere is modern and casual, with a stylish interior and a terrace for outdoor seating. It's a popular spot, so be prepared for a potential line, especially during peak hours. The staff is efficient, and the payment process is semi-automated, which adds to the modern, grab-and-go feel. In the same premises you will find Boulange. Boulange is a French-style bakery and cafe that's known for its high-quality bread and pastries. It's a great spot to grab a coffee and a croissant for breakfast, or to pick up some artisanal bread to take home. Also on the floor above, Luke's Lobster is a specialty shop that brings the taste of New England to Tokyo. Originating from New York, it's famous for its lobster rolls, which feature generous portions of high-quality,...
