The Oyster Bar Wharf is an inviting and well-appointed seafood restaurant that stands out for its diverse offerings and cozy ambiance. The establishment features an impressive selection of fresh oysters sourced from various regions, including Tokushima and Nagasaki, Japan, as highlighted by the “Oyster Profile” cards accompanying the dishes. This variety caters to different tastes, making it a delightful experience for oyster enthusiasts. The menu, visible in one of the photos, showcases an extensive range of options, from raw and grilled oysters to complementary dishes like rice bowls topped with seafood and side salads. This blend of raw and cooked preparations adds versatility, allowing patrons to enjoy a balanced meal. The setting is particularly appealing for both solo diners and groups of friends. The modern decor, with its warm lighting, stylish furniture, and open kitchen layout, creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. The tables are spaciously arranged, offering a comfortable dining experience, while the presence of non-alcoholic cocktails and soft drinks on the menu ensures there’s something for everyone, including those who prefer not to drink alcohol. The set meal options seem thoughtfully designed, providing a complete dining experience that pairs well with the oyster selections. From an outsider’s perspective, it’s interesting how this place blends traditional seafood enjoyment with a contemporary dining environment, potentially appealing to a wide demographic. The emphasis on fresh, regionally sourced oysters suggests a commitment to quality, though one might question if the pricing reflects this premium sourcing—something that could vary based on local economic factors. Overall, Oyster Bar Wharf appears to be an excellent spot for a casual yet refined meal, whether dining alone or catching up with friends.

Read moreMy wife and I arrived at this really nice looking collection of restaurants in the NEWoMan part of the building across the street from Shinjuku station's building. We got there a little before 10AM and they were still serving soft rice with oysters in it. That is all they serve, I believe, before 10AM. My wife had done her research and talk to the waitress so we could take seats at the counter. We decided on the 6 piece raw oyster set that included three kinds of oysters. I don't know if you can choose to have all the oysters the same, because my wife ordered in Japanese even though the guy who served us was Caucasian. I really liked the second oyster I ate as it was plump and creamy like (my favorite one is at the top of the bucket in picture #9 and my wife had the same one behind the blue card), which is not to say that any of them were bad at all. The experience was great as the oysters, sparkling wine and the four oyster sauces were all above my expectations. The four sauces (picture #8 included) from left to right: truffle and olive oil, whiskey spray (really surprising and good smell), a hot lemon sauce and a lemon sauce. The spicy one wasn't so spicy and you should try it, as well as the whiskey spray! Of course, the oysters were served with wedges of lemon, which I used only once as the sauces were really good. As you can tell from my receipt, this place is pricey but I loved it, and then went to the Shake Shack, which was only a hop, skip and a jump (or two) down the plaza from this oyster bar!!! I gave it four stars as it is pricey, but considering the area, I...

But we tried today, we felt cheated and ran straight back to the Wharf, it was a truly satisfying experience as our past experiences, 2 thumbs up. Keep up the greatness and Japanese hospitality we have admired for almost 30 years during our 30+ month long visits in search of fantastic passion...
